I am highly confused. Is the Australian Schoolboys Team just announced the highest representative honours available for schoolboys? Lots of missing names like Tonga and Sharples etc.

It wasn't a great spectacle for anyone watching or involved. While this school's team is a red-hot team there are clearly issues matching Country against Schools 1 in general. Schools 2 vs Sydney on the other hand was a cracking encounter with a last-minute touchline conversion from Schools 2 winger sealing the victory 22-21.

Hopefully, tomorrows games are closer, although I still am concerned for Country against Schools 2.

no it’s not. it’s essentially the 3rd and 4th Australian team because all the best players are in the Academy Teams and they picked these teams from those in NSW Schools, Juniors and Barbarians.

Joey Fowler (St Joseph’s 2022) and his Rebels u18 teammates went down to the Western Force today 29-19.

This was the 2nd game for both squads in front of Rugby AU selectors. This concludes the last of the u18 Academy games over this break.

Games return in September (after squads are re-selected) before an Australian u18 Squad is announced.

It is officially called the ‘Australian Schools and u18 squad’ and is selected by Rugby AU.

It is NOT TO BE CONFUSED with the 'Australian Schools Rugby Championships' which concluded last Thursday (with NSW Juniors winning over the QLD 2 Schoolboys at the u18 age held at the Eric Tweedale Oval). At the conclusion an Australian Schoolboys squad AND an Australian Barbarians Squad was selected by the Australian Schools Rugby Union. https://schoolsrugby.com.au/

The Rugby AU squad however is the top level of u18 rugby.

2022 announcement

TAS and South Aust u18’s state squads play 4 games each at the Southern States Junior Championships in Canberra next Thurs 13th and Fri 14th competing against Brumbies Country u18’s and the Brumbies u16 Academy squad. Teams as far as NT and WA will compete in various age groups on the Tues and Wed OR Thurs and Fri next week.

Country 16s had a tough time of it again today as predicted scoring two late to go down 59-10 to Schools 2s. Schools 1s played with 14 for 3/4 of the game and led 17-0 with 4 mins to go. 2 late tries to Syd made the score closer than it was, Schools 1 winning 17-12. Angus Grover was huge for Syd despite going down.

any games coming up these holidays?

I heard kings play barker at some point which will be a solid hit out for both teams

Again. I mean it's a good hit out for both.

Kings with a lot of boys involved in various rep games so I don't know what to make of it. Keep the 2nds rolling and 1sts not involved in so much.
