shores 2nd XV has recently had a massive inclusion. The mudgee wombat veteran tom hawkins is set to play hooker in his debut. Well known lineout expert and has great x-factor with his speedyness. Holds the bronco record in the 3rds. Possible dark horse for GPS 1sts. Wishing the Wombat best of luck and my condolences for Newington

Great photos, forgot about Graeme Thompson from Newcastle what a player was very unlucky with injuries had the talent to go all the way.
Yep. Graeme, Greg and Aaron all from the Wanderers Rugby Club in Newcastle.

I'm pretty sure they all played together for Wanderers 1ST XV 2003/04/05 period as the 9,10,12/13

I will try find the Newcastle Herald article.

Wanderers have a very strong history with the GPS Boarding Schools. The club formed in 1924 was even called GPS Old Boys and wore a White Jersey before switching to the famous Two Blues.

Some other notable Wanderers Old Boys - Phil Hawthorne, Ross Turnbull, Michael Jenkinson, Stuart Pinkerton, Harry Johnston-Holmes.

The club has produced 11 Wallabies.

The argument of school culture does make me laugh.

joeys have the largest crowds the reason being they are forced to go. No doubt they would still attract big crowds but you can’t compare schools like kings and view to joeys due to the fact that not even all home games are compulsory for the school.

view this year have been great in attendance at home and away games and it should be noted, great job boys !

kings have crowds no matter home or away, the boys are doing a great job and so is the war cry captain for this year who is also a elite cricket player. I believe the school took the foot of the petal and the view boys were hoping to cause an upset so the school and the boys published the attendance and seemed to almost catch kings out.
To be fair, I’d say both kings have set the standard for passion and creative war cry’s this year … Joeys while always intimidating, their war cry’s have become a bit stale and robotic like

Flat out

Yes the 1800 probably includes Regis campus. Wikipedia says Joeys caters for 2000 boys because from a catering perspective every boy eats two meals :)

From watching my son for last few years - I would say every Joe boy definatley eats more than two meals at each sitting.

Anyone got any information on Newington’s line up this week. Apparently six Year ten Boys from 16A’s have been asked to sub with even the chance to start.

Is this due to injury? Or just lack of dept with no 3rd XV.

Watch out for Riverview 2nds outside Center this weekend
I certainly will be. He is an solid ball runner who is a big boy and can hold his own. A few of the Riverview boys in the “lower” teams and by that I mean 2nd and 3rd XV seem to be playing well enough to be pushing up even for the 1XV. Riverview 3rd XV No.3 will look to play his hand in what is shaping up to be a crucial game against SGS 1XV.
