The Pie report

While Shore set the standard for many years, their recent decision to ditch their most prized menu selection has allowed the Joeys canteen a chance to shine. The pies Joeys served for many seasons were stodgy, rock hard, scalding hot usually inside a plastic bag. Today was quite a surprise. I present to you the Joeys pie.

Rich in meat and gravy the pie is encased in a crisp yet savory pastry case. The top is not overly flaky and the taste is rich beef with a slight hint of pepper. There were NO VEGETABLES to be seen which makes it a delight to savour. These have been sourced from the award winning local bakery at Boronia park. Get one while they last.

I was at the SHORE v HIGH game at 11 before going to Bellevue Hill for the 1sts game. Shore won 24-7 but I thought High were incredibly competitive, played with heart and if some calls went their way, could've been a drastically different score. As a neutral observer, always good to see High competitive in rugby: even when the biff started, the High boys didn't back down from their Shore counterparts. From the one game I have seen of High, I think they could definitely cause some carnage for the 3rds competition with some upsets.

Kings 2's up 14-7 HT, probably have upper hand but close. Unfortunate to give up try on halftime following a poor clearance after a View knock on. My sky blue glasses would've liked that pulled back for a no advantage scrum.
Thought it was alright but hard live to tell from distance. I think the size and some previous week injuries might be catching up with View. Back lines are evenly matched but it’s the piggies making a difference

I am not one to bag the referee as I too referee but I thought he was abysmal. One player should have been red carded for a lifting tackle and not even a penalty. Could not keep up with the play and the breakdown rule was thrown away. Disappointing as I too thought it was much closer than the scoreline shows.
