Scots win inevitable

For those who remember back in 2010 scots player Angus Chrighton was an obvious exception in a team of exceptional players. What people don’t remember was that he was unable to finish his HSC exam. After speaking to members of the scots coaching team I learned that Angus will return to scots for completion of his high school certification. It is definite that he will play this season and a potential 2019 season if he chooses to do pathways.

Definitely untrue as the thirds and fourths for Shore are currently training together as a squad and there is no “4ths team” as of yet. Not sure who you were talking to but very doubtful it was the coach.
Dont be so hasty to dismiss information. SHORE has a history of skillful rugby players, but their size has always been their shortcoming preventing many wins. The reason for this is that the larger students hav been more likely to row as their chances of winning something are much larger. With their loss this season to Riverview in HOTR they will have many of the “larger” students switching preferences in sports.

Next time use some commonsense before dismissing information from someone whom is obviously much smarter than yourself.

Just a reminder to any new members, or old ones with poor memories - have a read of the rules.
Some might need to read them more quickly. And get back to their studies.

some much needed flare

I hope this new contributor is doing STEM subjects. Spelling is certainly not their forte.
Although there does seem to be some flair for creative writing.

I've heard that Sydney High has 10 new players in the 1st XV, could make for an interesting season. They played a trial against SACs on Saturday, with High 1st XV playing in the first half, and the 2nd XV playing the second half (Both against Andrew's 1sts). The High firsts won their half, however the seconds got scored on 3 times, ultimately losing the game.

It will be another interesting season for High; They have two players to watch: A. Fox who played Halfback two years ago and 10 last year, (I'm not too sure what he's playing this year) and W.Choi who played in the 16s (I think) last year who is playing somewhere in the forwards. Both players have represented in the CHS so might be able to lead them well this season.

IIRC, their 16s were reasonably good last year.

Their 16s were good, however they are a smaller and less athletic team than last year (or so I’ve heard). The backline has lost a lot of size I believe.

It’ll be interesting to see how their season goes.

This is JB not fastball!

I hope High does well as does Huly! This year is a much better pre-season so far as the minnows are concerned. They get to play each other and a variety of schools at differing levels. By the time the main comp starts we should get a much better feel. I have been trying to encourage feedback on both the CAS and ISA threads to help us all.

With 21 players in year 11, for either 1st or 2nd XV they are investment for 2018. There was always a feeling that 2017 would be a lean year for our 1st XV despite some promising results against SIC W29-20 and KGS 29-17.
Hence, I believe Newington will have the potential to challenge, both Kings and Joeys who are likely to be potential favourites for 2018.
B&W any early form guide or update on Newington for 2018? Please have a go at naming a starting side

Think B&W might be MIA, after indescretions on the scholarship thread.

Quick Hands might be the goto Man for all things Newington.

No indiscretions just telling the truth to a few non-believers, unable to comprehend these apparent truths. My absence rather is due work commitments that may see me in the UK in the near future. Now to the Rugby, I was only able to see a few New Matches last year and thus not as familiar as I would like. But apart from the return of the 1st and 2nds players all ready mentioned, New also possess from last year strong but at times inconsistent 15and 16As. In the 16As they had an outstanding outside centre who spearheaded a 36-12 win over Shore and a 55-17 win over Kings. His background I was told is from the Dark Side. Believe me he is a player to watch and a potential match winner. Unfortunately, I forgotten his name.

So Newington should be a tough and difficult opponent, whether that will secure a premiereship is another matter.

Welcome back B&W.

They are all coming out of the woodwork tonight.

Pretty sure the Joker wasn't sighted at all last Year.

Thanks HB, I am very busy these days having written four new subjects for the HSC. These subjects are Australian and Global Politics, Strategic Studies in the Asia/Pacific Region, Conflict and Power in the Middle East and Defence Studies. Subjects that boys from GPS schools would love. The Minister of Education, Rob Stokes, likes them. I feel the next step is get the GPS schools, particularly their Headmaster's behind them. Learning about these subjects could be as exciting as playing Rugby.
