Think the seconds drew 12-12.

Some very disappointing discipline in the early opens games vs High by the Newington boys. Immature and unnecessary.

Every year there are moments of great pride in what the young men at Joeys do. Every so often it is the pure instinct and genuine compassion of these young men which leads them to a moment where they, their families and indeed their school can be very proud.

Last Saturday at Cranbrook, Joeys 11th XV which is an all Year 12 team, did exactly that. Rather than me tell the story, it is written more eloquently in the Fitz Files in today’s Sydney Morning Herald.

Thanks QH, for your efforts to bring New results. They are deeply appreciated by New supporters such as myself, who find work commitments prohibitive from attempting Matches.

Whatever criticism can be leveled at the New 1XVs, our A teams are off to great start for the year.I am particularly pleased with the 15As who had a miserable year, last season as the 14As. Their Third win in a row, but still early days as they have yet to meet the GPS heavy weights such as Joeys,Kings and View. While, Shore are also a improving force in this age group.

This year the 16As appear to loss to have some firepower and are more of 16A and B combination from last year. So their win was pleasing against Waverley. Its also good to see the thirds get a win, traditionally in years past the Thirds expressed our lack of depth in the open division.

In what could be another lack lustre year for our 1st XV, its pleasing to see other teams performing at the top level.
