Not knocking the effort. The intensity is very high but yes, for all the intensity the level of skills is severely lacking. Story of Australian Rugby at present.

Happy enough with the pack. Fox has played pretty well I reckon. Ah-mu needs to swap with Sefa occasionally, would get the former more touches and the latter a bit more space IMO.

Jack needs to keep it simpler. Definitely need someone (Quade Cooper, Ben Lucas, anybody else) to come in and keep him on his toes.

Fair reflection in the end with the spirit getting up 20-16.

Far too many errors from the Rising.

Positively, I liked the contributions of Toolis, Fox and Tupai, while the scrums, Lineouts and Mauls were excellent, at least until Uelese came on (still needs to learn to throw!) Defense was shit, passing was shit, handling was shit, and for a specialist fullback, Placid's skillset isn't good enough to cover for his poor high ball recieves.

Enjoyed Lance, Morahan, the big Number 8 and the 13 for the force. The reserve props looked quality but raw too.

With it being an off weekend and a home game, I'd hope we get Hodge and Chibba back for the first home game

Congrats Spirit. A worthy win. Big turning point when they brought their reserve props on which game then a stronger scrum.

JD was really poor unfortunately. Thought the backrow was great particularly Jordy. Metcher very good at THP.

Spirit well served by Eden, Morohan and Lance. Some good impact from the bench too.

The other thing I learnt was that the next time Cam Shepherd commentates I will be muting the feed.

I think Fox looks overly good because every time either Leota or him carried they credited him. Which is funny because of the obvious physique and ethnicity difference.

Honestly, I had it on mute. I was actually mistaking Cruze for Fox a lot! Same ethnicity issue, but less physique. I blame the stream and a bad hangover

Fox was good though, despite having a Dad bod and a half.

Leota had 3 or 4 great carries VS Fox's 10 or so carries ranging from decent to good.
