Estimate is in on wiki! 7,000. Anyone at the game want to comment on that? It certainly is great exposure for the game, free entry or not.

Wasn't at the game but I understand there was a decent enough turnout.

However, I'd suggest that nice round 7,000 figure (unsourced and added by some random punter) is highly doubtful.

There's a small chance it might be semi-legitimate estimate based on aggregated visual counting, or photos, or somesuch.

More likely the person who typed it into Wikipedia plucked it out of their hole.

7000 might be a stretch, but the grand stand was full, about 1500 - 2000, and the hill side had quite a crowd as well, maybe another 1000, and then there were quite a few of us still in the club house watching from the balconies and on TV. Maybe 4000 to 5000 all up.
