NRC 2019 Draw

I don't have any ties with Qld clubs or state / national administration and I've not been able to spot anything on-line regarding when the 2019 competition begins (assuming it does). Mildly annoying, since I very much enjoy heading off to NRC games.

Has anything been announced, or even whispered, about when proceedings commence?

Draw will be released this week.

Has been rumoured that it will start a week (or perhaps 2) after Shute Shield GF.

Wouldn't it be better if Rising and Vikings changed name to match the Super team as it is essentially run by them to get some brand recognition and maybe more people going to games. I remember telling people that I was going to a Spirit game years ago and having to explain it was the Western Force playing in a lower competition.

Booked in to Woolahra Oval on Sep 14. Despite being a city boy, my colours are firmly in the Country camp.

A pity Brissie is not playing in Sydney this year.

Happy they're playing in Gladstone, I wish a couple more of the Goldie games were in Mackay, Townsville Toowoomba though.

NSW Country touring is also impressive, well done NSWRU :)

Great to see proper footy on show in regional Australia, let's try and get more next year.

All matches broadcast on Rugby.com.au this year, in addition all games will also broadcast on either Foxsports or Kayo.

So glad they've gotten rid of that stupid foxsports streaming system, it broke down too many times last year.

One match per round will be broadcast LIVE on FOX SPORTS with the remaining games to be shown LIVE on Kayo Sports and RUGBY.com.au.

5 of the 7 Match of the rounds on Fox Sports involve Sydney. None involve the Brisbane City side. Seems reasonable seeing as the Sydney clubs are right behind the concept and are clearly the spiritual home of Rugby in Australia.

all matches are free to air. So now we're whinging about matches BEING on fox? Can't catch a break with this place

I appreciate that all games are available for all to watch. It's a fantastic initiative to help grow the game and garner interest. Nor is it really a whinge Reg, more an observation. Match of the round will have commentary and is obviously deemed the more superior game, no? Would be fairer to all teams to share the prestige right? Especially since the rest of the country is behind the NRC succeeding whereas the more persuasive Sydney clubs would love for it to disappear. Again.

Im pretty sure the the other games will still have commentary, what will be lacking will be the additional camera angles that Foxsports mandates as a minimum for their sporting broadcasts. I think a Foxsports broadcast requires like 6 different cameras at a minimum, whereas Kayo can get away with 2 or 3.

Interested to see how Brisbane City fare this season off the back of a fairly average season for the reds. I am backing the mighty rising to have a ripper

I guess I was more thinking about the streaming service from Rugby Australia.
It's great that there are so many options to watch all matches and availability for all budgets.
RA are definitely to be commended for giving the NRC a good shot at gathering interest.
Looking forward to a great comp!

I think making all Sydney’s home games at one ground a smart move to try and build support. Although prefer concord as closer to my home - woollahara still very accessible. Wonder if this is a precursor to western Sydney side joining Grr and in turn nrx next year (which would play home Games out west)
