Rays kickoff, players offside and the ball doesn't go 10, play on. Rams push play up to Rays half, win penalty. Lineout 8m out, good rolling maul, Roach over. 26-39 with 9 to go.

Rams now out-muscling the Rays, hold ball from kick off and push it back to the 50m line, win penalty. Lineout on Rays 22m, scrappy lineout, Rams hold ball. Roach plays scrummie, twice, MotM for mine.

Rays take play well into Rams half, lose ball over the side. They look well beaten to me. Very slow lineout, some substitutions for the Rams, knock on, Rays choose scrum.

Penalty to Rams at the scrum, lineout on Rams 10m line. Good win, and then drop ball. Scrum 15m in Rams territory. 1min to go.

Rays fell away badly in the second half, Rams too strong. Rams win penalty at the scrum, ball kicked out, bell goes. Rams hold ball going for the bonus point. Ball turned over, goes out. 41-26 to the Rams, FT.

Gees after watching the Rising vs Fiji Drua game yesterday which was highly entertaining this was a little bit more dull.....

Hard to see any of NSW sides in the final. Rams best of an average bunch of NSW NRC sides compared to some of the other NRC sides in the competition seen so far.

Rays were probably always up against it after having the bye in the first round. Seems to often equate to a loss when it comes into play.

Rams front row was awesome. Wallabies could do worse than call in the Rams pack for opposed training - set piece is fab.

Mack Mason looks ready for bigger things. He's not the only one - Rays 10 also good.

Eastwood has turned out great front rowers for a long time. Where are they? For years our props have schooled the supposed best. Jeremy Tilse is the most obvious failed student, but there have been others.

Ray's won't trouble many,if any this season.
They had enough ball to win 3 games in the first half today.
I'm tipping them to be on the wrong end of some big losses.

I don't really like the fact that there are Marlins players on either side and there don't seem to be many Rats players in the Rays as a number are with the Eagles. Not really the way for the Rays in particular or the NRC in general to build any tribalism.

Turner needs to learn to carry the ball in the correct arm when trying to score in the corner.

That halfback Duffy is ordinary, very ordinary.

Hugh Roach and Jed Holloway have been immense in the first two games.

Hopefully they can both continue it during the NRC and then into Super Rugby next year.

Roach's problem could be that this is the level he tops out at in terms of where he can dominate. At Super Rugby level he hasn't really been able to be part of a strong enough scrum and his relatively small size may continue to get in his way.

Jed Holloway needs to get back to his 2016 Super Rugby form and stay healthy then he could easily be in the frame for the Wallabies in 2018.

He could do worse than forget hooker and play openside flanker.
