This also has a big impact on club rugby, previously Super Rugby clubs would rest key players(non-wallabies) through the June Test Series rather then returning to club rugby, but with the removal of the break, it should mean non-wallabies getting an additional 4 games/rounds in club rugby.

Should also allow for the NRC to start slightly earlier and finish before the June Internationals that disadvantaged sides the first two seasons, and likely the next few as well.

Won't that clash with the later club finals in Sydney?

While SUper rugby in this country implodes, the Aviva premiership players and coaches are in "open revolt" over the proposed new 11 month season.

The open revolt among rugby’s players and coaching staff against plans to extend the Aviva Premiership season to 10 months has deepened, with one recent England international labelling the plan ‘unsustainable madness’.

The Mail on Sunday revealed last week the anger felt by players who could be expected to play almost year-round rugby from 2019-20 under Premiership Rugby’s plans.

Players' union chairman Christian Day - who is demanding to meet Premiership Rugby bosses to seek assurances over compulsory rest periods but has so far been unable to secure a face-to-face meeting - has refused to rule out strike action while Bath director of rugby Todd Blackadder on Saturday became the latest coach to slam the proposals as unworkable.
