Frans Malherbe definitely, Nicolaas Janse van Rensberg & RG Snyman likely to be unavailable due to injury:

PSdT wont play this year. Its much easier now with our franchises and players playing up north to replace injured players. From today it will also easy to fly in/fly out between UK/SA. Same time zone.

You'd think that after 14 years Wayne Barnes being appointed to ref AB v France wouldn't cause a regurgitation of what happened that day in Cardiff but you'd be dead wrong. I actually thought he retired after RWC 2019 & was a full time barrister these days.

I think Barnes is a bloody good ref actually, perhaps at times a little like a school teacher, but pretty good ref.

After 12 minutes, this USA NZ match is like watching an unopposed training run19-0 no make that 24-0. I’m surprised how excited the kiwi commentators are

^ USA's UK- & Euro-based players have gone back to their Clubs so this is essentially a MLR XV. Was always going to be a flogging but this is getting embarrassing. AB should empty the bench at HT.

USA were always going to cop a flogging. If they can’t have their best players why play?

George Smith (75)
Similar reason as why Wales are playing next week without their Eng-based players. Money talks.

USA get their first-ever try v AB, 59-7 at oranges.
