Great to see Ireland get up against England.

England never really looked like they knew how to score until they went to their set piece, but they made a game of it by challenging hard and forcing some errors. It was always going to be a hard ask with their full team, but with 14men I just couldn't see it happening and it just felt like you were waiting for Ireland to kick into gear. It wasn't perfect by Ireland and they'll take some learnings from that, but at the end of the day they got it done, at home, on St Patty's weekend to win the Grand Slam. What's not to like :)

And it's rather fitting England's fans are having a meltdown over one of their players red carded for using their shoulder...

Mind you I have to say, I thought it was a ridiculous red card, Stewart looked like he was trying to get out of way and Irish player fell into him. And I not an English supporter by any means, was cheering for Ireland, just thought it a strande decision.

At least World Rugby will now be more open to changes like the 20 min red card, or the TMO review of a yellow card whilst playing on. It had to wait until England suffered the consequences.

Just switched in the Utah v New England game, crowd sounds awesome. Making a lot of noise for Utah. Does not look like a large crowd, but plenty of noise.

Feel like he’s done a pretty decent job. French & Irish clearly ahead of the pack and he has them the next best.
Taking that at face value it is a pretty asinine thing to demand. You'd think any top coach could put into words some strategies to defeat top teams but actually coaching those results is harder.

Scotland has a relatively ok history at recent world cups compared to Ireland but even QFs would be a strong result given how many competitive teams there are at the moment.

I believe he deserves another chance, but not only would that see him in the role for 10 years, I think there's about 4 metrics that the SRU will be wanting to look at.

1) Performance in this years World Cup.
2) Plans to improve away performances in the 6 nations and on tour.
3) Ability to extract talent out of this generation of excellent players for the next world cup (a lot of whom will be in that 29-33 bracket in '27)
4) Ability to facilitate the development of non-"ready made" players outside the existing group for beyond '27 e.g. tighthead props: we are now in the 8th season of relying on Fagerson and Nel to shoulder the burden of virtually all tests, with none of the likes McCallum, Berghan, Rae etc. having been developed into Test level options despite extended periods in and around Scotland/Glasgow/Edinburgh setups.

While other areas of Scottish rugby definitely need to step up their game to support him in that (More Super 6 funding in particular, preferably alongside the promotion of the Hawks and swapping the professional arm of the Exiles from the Championship) he needs to show he has both the drive and the know how to get all that done.

The way South African fans carry on about their teams and their performance in Europe you’d think they never lost a super rugby game. Remind when was the last time a SA team won Super?
