But other than the Blues and Crusaders the NZ teams have been very average. The SA teams haven't looked brilliant either.

I think it is just teams struggling to gel at the start of the season. The same in AUs, NZ and SA.

The Highlanders have played their gameplan very well, and they've knocked off some big name teams, too.

It's probably not a bad thing that the Aussie teams are playing badly now & getting injuries early as the Kiwis suffered the same last year & finished the season stronger with all their stars back on the paddock.

Players dont get poached, they either get forced to move by their club due to poor form or get to choose where they want to go based on the talent they possess. Dagg obviously thinks he is better off at the Crusaders. Personally, I think he was better off at the Highlanders, he has been pretty ordinary for the Crusaders so far in comparison to his performances last year with the highlanders. I hope he is just warning up. As for Kade Poki I think he's picked up where Dagg left and is doing a fine job for the highlanders. I'm very happy to see them beat the bulls, but that good form better end when they meet the Crusaders.

This years early games are way too early to tell, although the conference system this year may not allow teams to have a random start to the season.

The playing field seems to be a bit more level and inconsistent this year with no one really standing out so far.
