Nicknames of Australian Rugby players

Bairdy

Peter Fenwicke (45)
I think I read somewhere that there is a injury prone bloke that played in an Australian Super Rugby team some time ago who was dubbed Tampon, because he’s in one week, out for three. Made me chuckle anyone know who it was?
I think someone referred to Palu as tampon in the Wallabies watch thread

can I give a nickname that I don't think is already used??

Nic White (scrumhalf for brumbies in case I got it wrong)...I reckon he should be called cowboy.

is it just me or do others think he walks with wide spaced bandy legs as if he just got off a horse??

Noticed this on Saturday when I was directly behind him lining up a kick. He was lining up a kick that is. best set of bowed legs I have seen since I left the west.

yeah, noticed that greg martin said basically the same thing on the broadcast..'looks like he just got off a horse'. That stuck in my head for some strange reason ;)

I tried posting one of those cartoon cowboys when I made my post, but I think that most get it.

Does that mean we have created a new nickname?

Hope it is not too offensive (from his point of view)

yes, that's more polite, would feel more comfortable with something like that.

aussies, liking to be cryptic, could also take breaker a step forward and call him morant. That will get the foreigners scratching their heads.

Gnostic

Mark Ella (57)
Skylab - Steve Cutler
The Skewer - Illie Tabua (Sorry Illie I can't remember the spelling of your full name)
Pogo - Garrick Morgan

not a Rugby Player I know he is from the that other game - but Francis Farrell deserves a mention in any listing of Australian sportsmen's nicknames. One of the few who earned his name off the field - The Bumper

Scoey

Tony Shaw (54)
From another thread, one of the best nicknames I've heard: Billy Twelvetrees nickname is '36' from when he played for Leicester. Haha! Classic!

EDIT: Just thought of another one; Nathan Sharpe also gets called Razor.

grousehouse

Bob McCowan (2)
I thought Chris Whittaker was dubbed 'Hobo' (rather than Anthems) because he never had the need to shower after a test match.

Swat

Chilla Wilson (44)
Best nickname i've seen is a guy in Orange that goes by the nickname of Clock; he only has one hand.
