I'm somewhat reminded of Deans's decision to take the notoriously permanently injured Pocock to the world cup as our only openside flanker. I am completely in favour of picking Petaia first, but leaving Kuridrani out altogether smacks of poor risk mitigation.

I don't mind that he's stuck to his mantra of rewarding form. No argument that TK wasn't in form. I think the clarity for the players is good.
