I love it how some NZ press has called Barrett running back through a ruck from an offside position and kicking the ball away a 50/50 yellow card.

by christ I hope I'm wrong, but the only outcome I see this weekend is a 20 odd point pantsing. The ABs rarely play 2 poor games in a row, and I have to say on the weekend they did play below par. Combined with the hubris of the media (including their own) and their home ground advantage, I think they will come out absolutely firing and smash us around. They have the measure of our first phase play, they have the measure of our set piece, the only potential for the wallabies to attack is either through broken play or turnovers, and they are pretty effing good at scrambling back, much better than we are. Simmons, Carter and Palu all need to step up in a big way this week, and beale and To'omua need to run straighter.

Definite YC. Aaron Smith should have been carded early in the game for the same offence; running straight back though the ruck from the Wallabies side about 30m out from the tryline. Instead, scrum for a knock on by White as he was being pushed forward by Smith.

Rugbysmartarse to say the All Blacks rarely have two bad games is a cop out. 2 of their 3 June tests were not great performances and they just scraped home.
The All Blacks are rarely tested by quality opposition 2 tests in a row. They weren't just bad by their own accord on the weekend, we provided resistance. We need to do that again this week in order to test them again.

It's the whole... if I stick my hands up in the air whilst I'm commiting a professional foul it might seem like it's accidental. I'm just trying to get back on onside. How was I to know there was a ruck there?

I liked the one where Smith made a tackle, or fell off one and got up on our side of the ruck in the halfback's way. Hooper just drove him over the ruck and may have even rubbed his face in the turf.

Any player who puts his hands up in the air should be penalised immediately.
In fact, I think this rule should also apply when players do it as a gesture to the referee, as in "surely that's a penalty, ref?"
It's boring and it spoils the look of the game.

In the French series, Beale came on for To'omua twice and Foley once. You could probably assume there's equal chance of Foley replacing either of them.
Hopefully Link shows more faith in his bench this week. A bit more urgency and pace on the game at the end would have probably got us across the line.
Skelton, Phipps and Foley 10 minutes earlier together with Kuridrani for McCabe with 15 to go (and shifting AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) to the wing).
I think sticking with our front row for as long as we did was probably the right call though. They were going well and we probably had more to lose by changing them than having fresh players in those positions would have gained.
