I reckon Marty Banks and Sumo Stevenson's on again, off again BFF status has been reconciled and Marty doesn't want to put that in jeopardy.

Banks has officially joined the Clan to replace Hayden Parker who is gone for the season. He'll supposedly join Treviso post-Super Rugby & has written a kind of open letter to Treviso's supporters & sponsors explaining his situation:

So obviously some off-field dramas going on in his life. If Treviso are OK with him missing their season the I guess the rest of us have to be, too.

Charlie Ngatai still suffering concussion symptoms & no-one knows when he'll play again:

I guess at some point it becomes more a case of IF he plays again, hopefully it doesn't come to that.

I reckon the IF point has already been reached. Sad to say, the guy had huge talent, but its nine months since his last injury and he's still not right. That says he's still suffering physical damage that has not yet been repaired. Worrying for his long term health.

^^^^^^^^^ Was expecting him to be eased back into it on the wing after such a long layoff & given the traditionally "physical" approach of the Blues.

I see what you're saying, but the bloke is a fullback for them. You monitor his minutes, not his position.

Do wingers get contacted less a game?

Chiefs have lost halfback Brad Weber & prop Mitchell Graham for the season, both breaking a leg at the Tens:

Also a WTS member in lock Fin Hoeata for up to three months with ankle ligament damage. The way they've gone through locks in recent times that could be almost as significant loss.

Meanwhile 'canes lock Vaea Fifita has been cleared of a suspected broken leg & should be back around Round six.
