Another 'cane leaving after Super Rugby, Jeff To'omaga-Allen off to Wasps:

See my comment re: Proctor only moreso the way we've been churning through props the last coupla years.

Yep know what you saying WOB, though he was always there or thereabouts,he never quite cracked it did he, he actually didn't always start for the Canes. Still a loss , I must admit to liking him as a player.

Based on his performances over the last few years, and this being a RWC year, it seems plainly clear that this'll be his final season. But I would have a wee giggle if if a veteran, 34 yo, Williams gets ousted from the Blues second five spot by a rookie*, 36 yo, Nonu. Doubly so if said rookie trolls his way into the RWC side.

*Rookie for this particular contract.

Lurch on those Sale reports:

Still think he'll do a sabbatical year in Japan part-way through the next RWC cycle.

Can't really blame Taufua for leaving. Had bugger all chances in Black, and the few opportunities he got were scuppered by injury. Could cause some damage playing for Samoa in the RWC.....

Razor re-signed for 2020 & 21:

You'd think there's a clause in his contract covering the possibility of him being brought into the AB setup post-RWC.

A mixed day for two former AB greats, DC going back to Racing 92 but JSav apparently* fired by Toulon:

* I say "apparently" because Boudjellal does say some weird shit at times.

*^ which kinda poses the question of who was the greatest.

In my time (~1972 to now) I'd go Zinzan simply 'cos he did things I've never seen an 8 do before or since (like long-range, opposition-soul-destroying DG's).

2. Read
3. Buck
4. Andy Leslie
5. Rodney S

Honourable mention: Grizz 'cos he was almost as indestructible as Buck.

Disclaimer: persons of an earlier vintage may well put Lochore up there & I'd have no problem with that but he was just before my time (although I think he may have played in the Meads Testimonial match I went to at Athletic Park in 1973 as a wide-eyed 9yo).

Yep I kind of find it a little hard to argue too much WOB, although I would have Mexted in there fairly high up. Zinny certainly was a case of someone who had to get some not too good habits from his game, before he became a pretty good .
