That's right. There's more of the blighters.

Did I hear somewhere, a family of about 8 boys? Three already playing at or near top level rugby. If there are others, do any show promise as well?

AFAIK there's just Beaugan, Scott (NZ U20's & Crusaders lock) & Jordie (NZ U20's & Canterbury 12/15, probable 2017 Crusader) but wouldn't be surprised if there's at least a couple more a la the Whitelocks. I shall investigate.

There's Kane who also played for the Naki. I think the last I heard is he had concussion issues.

Good work @ACTC.

Kane Barrett's wiki profile states three sisters & four brothers. Bro 4 is Blake (ball carrier):

Played First XV for Francis Douglas Memorial College alongside Jordie as a No. 8 & is a year older than Jordie. So pecking order-wise it's Kane, Beauden, Scott, Blake, Jordie. Case solved :)

All of these guys come off contract after the Lions tour:

Kieran Read, Sam Whitelock, Owen Franks, Cory Jane, Israel Dagg, Aaron Cruden, Ben Smith, Charlie Faumuina, Sam Cane, Steven Luatua, Malakai Fekitoa, Hikawera Elliot, Nepo Laulala, Codie Taylor, James Broadhurst, Tawera Kerr Barlow, Nehe Milner-Skudder, Waisake Naholo, Brad Weber, Charlie Ngatai and Ryan Crotty

No way we'll be able to hang onto all of them so someone at HQ is gunna have to work out who to chase & how hard. Obviously Read is top priority followed by Whitelock & BSmith, but, for X ample, do we really need all of Fekitoa, Ngatai (assuming he's healthy) & Crotty? Some interesting calls (culls?) will have to be made.

Looking at the list, that's a pretty decent AB squad: maybe they could have an "Off Contract" v "Under Contract" trial match :)

"Here's the summary of findings in the NZR press release:

• No complaint was laid with police and police are not pursuing either incident
• The discrepancies between the reported accounts of both women, and those of the players and independent witnesses could not be reconciled in a number of key respects
• The allegations of sexual assault, were strongly denied by players, and were not substantiated by the witnesses’ who did not see players touch, throw anything or pour alcohol on any women at either celebration
• Nine independent witnesses to the performances were interviewed and gave statements that were considered genuine and credible
• Players organised the end-of-season celebrations including the entertainment
• Chiefs management were not involved in the celebrations or their planning and did not ask for details, but did advise players to be responsible
• At both functions, some players were intoxicated to varying degrees, and some – designated as minders for those drinking – were sober"

waiopehu oldboy, as I am an "observer of the game", rather than a "student of the game", can you please tell me if the All Blacks practice a "fly-in-fly-out" regime with their players, like the Wallabies do?!

So Jordie Barrett has signed with the Hurricanes.

Jordie Barrett will join older brother Beauden at the Hurricanes after signing a multi-year deal with the Super Rugby champions.

The 19-year-old, considered one of the brightest talents in New Zealand rugby, came through New Plymouth's Francis Douglas Memorial College but made his provincial debut for Canterbury this season and had an offer to follow coach Scott Robertson to the Crusaders next year.

It is understood the decision was a difficult one for Barrett. While fellow brother Scott plays lock for the Crusaders, the chance to literally play alongside All Blacks playmaker Beauden was too good to turn down.

.....

Still eligible for the national under 20s team next year, Barrett is likely to complement the Hurricanes back three next year that already features Nehe Milner-Skudder, Cory Jane and Julian Savea. Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd is sure to give him time to find his feet, and in two years or so he should be nearing his best.

.....

Barrett's versatility will be welcomed by the Hurricanes after the departures of outside backs James Marshall and Jason Woodward. He has the ability to play first and second-five but of late has mainly featured at fullback.

"He's obviously got some flexibility about where he plays. With Jason and James we would prefer they were still part of our squad. They were big contributors last year and it's always sad to see guys go that you want to keep but they've made their choices and we support them.

"To have someone like Jordie Barrett come in … he's already proving himself at provincial level so I'm sure he'll continue to develop and if he comes he'll be a contender for a starting spot next year."
