Read this article from a Central Coast based contributor on The Roar regarding the happenings within his area. http://www.theroar.com.au/2012/01/15/junior-rugby-on-the-central-coast-nsw-is-alive-and-well/ it good to read that things are looking up on the Coast.

However it's this sentence "There is a new “School’s Rugby 7s” program being implemented to work in with the Rugby in the Olympics program which will see an aggressive 7s program rolled out Australia wide." that most caught my attention and intrigue. If true, then its wonderful news as I have for a long time believed that 7s could in effect be Rugby version of a game changer in terms of attracting further levels of participation and support. Good news.

Just as long as it doest reduce focus from the 15 man game rather working in conjunction

That's a good point. What I would like to see to somewhat overcome that would be the local club scene look to get involved in any way possible, be it helping with volunteers or facilities, to if possible assisting with coaching etc. The reasoning behind this would be to build a relationship with these kids and attempt to promote Rugby as sport in general by creating a pathway from this schools program into regular weekend Rugby.
