All I know, apart from where the contracted 7's players will be playing is that there will be three players from The Mighty 2 Blues in the NSW Team:
Chris NAY
Larry HERMANS
Lani TIATIA

Be nice to have a squizz at the full Team lists to see who will be playing.

It is hard to get behind the domestic sevens programme in the absence of detailed information about who is playing, but it is great to see the tournament is going ahead.

It is progress. One step at a time.

Steve - any tips on where the team lists will be published?

Hi Macca: there were a few more changes to all of these lists even this morning, will see what we can do. Conscious about publishing info that will ultimately be incorrect. We have a match program for the tournament and it is already woefully inaccurate! Let me know if you'd like me to shoot you one over in the post though on Monday..

Thanks Steve - I intend to attend so hopefully can pick one up there. very positive about the idea of the tournament however do kindly suggest that it might have been given a bit more publicity. My sheep shagging mate that lives here is really surprised that he hasn't seen anything about it in the media.

Hi Macca: feel free to come and say hi at the Admin tent on the weekend. Always a tricky one with publicity - a media release announcing the competition was sent to media months ago, while another release was distributed earlier this week. We've also done a fair bit on our website this week.

Reality is that we can't force newspapers to write on it. However, pleasingly, the local media in each regional area (for example, say, Toowoomba) have been supporting this hugely as they have players from that area playing. That's a theme right throughout the country. It's really the national media that haven't come on board. All good though, appreciate the feedback. Hope you enjoy the competition!

Twas there.
The usual suspects did well. Queensland Red are probably the favourites - Matt Lucas plus a few other stars looked good. The NSW Blues also went well.
Was impressed with some of the "lower lights". The NT mosquitos & Australian University sides were great to watch and surprised a few.

Any club players off the top of your head you recognised playing for the NSW sides mate?

Great tournament - hats off to the ARU.
Was still amazed about the lack of publicity and awareness in the Rugby world. I know the ARU did try to get it out there however couldn't get main media coverage - as advised earlier in this column.
With all the talk about lack of grass roots support, the ARU now have at least one demonstrable example of their efforts in trying to address this.
The players will all be quite chuffed with the opportunity of playing in this comp and I guess some will go on to further opportunities.
Happy Days!
