Mortlock - Last year at the Brumbies

I have heard some reports today that Stirling Mortlock has confirmed that 2010 will be his last year at the Brumbies. At this point he is undecided on a move to either Melbourne or Europe.

I wouldn't be surprised if he follows in the footsteps of Gregan, Larkham and G Smith and instead of playing against the Brumbies, he'll go to Europe with a young family and see out his playing career.

I don't mind if he goes to the Rebels, with Tyrone Smith showing hes more than capable as a replacement and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) also waiting to getting into the 13 jumper we have the guys there. Mortlock is past his prime sadly so I'm not too fussed if he goes to the Rebels.

Morty don't look like he is enjoying his rugby. Where ever he goes, I just hope the big fella bows out with the dignity and grace he deserves. What a great servent of Australian Rugby.

I think he's experience will be welcome at the Rebels. He's also a great ambassador for the game.
