Didn't Cheika get punted by Stade? Certainly proved to be a good omen for the Reds.

Stade was a fucking disaster but had little to do with Cheika's coaching ability. Link as had a really shit run at Stade. Probably because it's a glamour-first, rugby-second club.

I'm sure there's a really good joke about QLDers here , but I'm gonna let it bounce into touch.

At least he isn't worrying about splashback from his cappuccino when he goes to count on his fingers! (Am I doing this right?)

I see Richo as more of a latte or skinny piccolo type of guy personally.

And yet blokes like Todd Louden and Phil Blake, both of whom have proved to be capable Super coaches, can't get a gig with Australian sides. We can't afford to not utilise coaches like these; they'd make a bloody good coaching team at the Rebels next year.

I certainly wouldn't complain about that coaching team, if that is who we ended up with.

What was Blake's role at the force?
Wasn't he responsible for the Wallabies failure @ RWC 2011' if not how come the review was followed by his non-renewal?

Agree with this 100%. One of the reasons I am optomistic that the Wallabies back line will play more positively this year is the effect of Cheika on both Barnes & AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). At their best, both are very fine attacking players.
That they are, they have been a number of attacking players play under Dean's tutalidge and unfortunately they play a different game - I'm impressed with what Cheik has acheived in year 1

AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) has a really nifty open-field step when he gets the chance to use it. It's been a while since he's gotten that kind of space at international level. Barnes too has much better footwork than he's given credit for and can throw the Cooper-esque long ball when he wants to (I only think he can do it right->left though).

You'll like the piece I have in the works about the Waratahs new attack structures

Phil Blake was brought on as a defense coach and we had THE BEST defense at RWC11. If anything he was the only one who did his job.

Deans doesn't play well with others who do the job better than he does.

This crap shoot has probably been a big influence as to why both Cheika and Link have been able to turn the cultures they inherited around in a short time. Seems like more than a coincidence to me. Jake White having danced through the mine field of SA rugby would explain his ability to reform what he inherited.

Deans likes yes men, his way or the highway.

You ever tried to work with fluffybunnys who aren't on the same page? Especially when you've been put in charge of getting the results, and your job is on the line if you don't?

Let me tell you that Rod didn't put up with fwits either, but he had massive success - due mainly to assembling the RIGHT people and being professional about rugby before anyone else was. Oh and the fact he had several all-time greats in his side, as well as a host of World XV players.

As with the Quade thing, what about we all shut the fuck up about things if which we know little, and concentrate in supporting the team, hmm?

They really need to invent a saracasm font, intonation is very hard to derive sometimes. Especially when your post is about 20 words long.

Pfitzy, Rod's people management skills were far supperior than Deans, thats were he excelled.
Rods world 15 players, albiet class players, they benifited because they gelled as "team" as well with "good structure", and combinations.
Watched one of the 2001 lions games this morning;
Rod Moore as a prop - current props better.
Foley as hooker - rate our current hookers above.
Locks - better in 01
Loosies - possibly comparable Tongan 8's, Manly 7's, 6 Finegan V ?
Genia V Greegan - interesting
10 - yeah Larkam,
Centres were Grey and Herbert from memory and they had and played to a good game plan.
Roff, Walker, Burke - not sure who we will run out in '13, but the back 3 in 01 played as a unit, and again to a good game plan.

I am no expert with regards to managing people, or structuring a game plan, however I do see Deans has a weakness with People management, and his game plan.

BTW oops this is a Cheika thread not a DEans problem thread.
