OK so for this unknown Melbourne poster,

Do they have a team, a coach, a owner, a Stadium to play in at this stage?

The Kings have all those plus they have a support base with a rugby culture already in place. In fact they have already played this year against the BIL and nearly toppled them
[/quote]

they have a fantastic brand new stadium, they are in the second largest city in australia which is also a bussiness hub for many companies, and on top of it, they also are in the same time code which means for the matches to be played news ltd gets the right game times for the competition they paid for!

its a brand new team, so a coach and players would be signed and announced when the team knows its going to be playing!

were the kings originally the spears that the SArugby were going to put in a couple of years back but screwed over themselves?

Thats only fair and will level those teams compare to the travelling our teams have to do by visiting NZ and Aus.

I have read the claim about unfair travelling many times. I can't see how the travel is unfair. Could you please explain this to me?

It's an odd situation if you ask me (go ahead... ask).

SA seem to have a venue, coaching staff and a team. Aussie has none of those yet.
Still, a Saffer team playing in an Aussie group doesn't make tons of common sense.

I guess the whole thing will go to arbitration... by an Aussie QC (Quade Cooper).
Hmmm.... I wonder what the outcome of that will be.... ::)

SA teams have to play AWAY against the NZ 7 Aus teams, so they is away from home longer. Aus teams travel over the ditch to NZ and come back home, NZ teams travel over the ditch to Aus and go back home, its not a 6 to 8 week tiour like our lot have.

At this stage you look like the one being screwed, no team, no coach and please give me the name of this wonderfull stadium that belong to a no team?

Thanks, Mate. I am trying to understand this. So, the whole case rests on time away from home?

Pretty sure, thats what the Bokke and Bulls did this year in the S14 & TriNations. They slipped over to Perth only on the monday or teusday of match week and in both cases that few days longer at home worked very well result wise.

Yup, spot on.
If you've ever been on an extended sport's tour, you'll appreciate that a fair degree of "touring fatigue" sets in after a while.

The SA teams - for logistic purposes - are pretty much forced to play their Aus and NZ based games in one long away stretch.
The same doesn't apply to Aussie and Kiwi teams who have much shorter stints to SA before getting back home.
(Unless they end up with one hell of an unfortunate draw).

At first it sound odd to me to but like in the first qoute it will only mean the Aus teams have to play one more game in SA and the Kings will tour longer.

So the Aus teams still have only ONE week add to their away leg and our teams still tour much longer compare to their bit.

So if the Kings get the go ahead it will mean:

Kings will play 4 matches in Aus & most 3 in NZ = 7 week tour.

Aus teams = 3 or 4 weeks in SA

SA teams = 4 or 5 weeks (2 Aus + 3 NZ)

NZ teams = 2 or 3 weeks in sa

SARU can whinge about all the want about TV money but they won't let this matter go to a democratic vote. Claiming that Melbournes bid is not valid because they don't have a sponsor is irrelevant at this point in time as is having a coach. The do have a stadium by the way.

Each Oz team spends up to 4 weeks in SA? Fuck no.

The Kings will unfortunately be born into this current situation and as they hail from the poorest area of South Africa, they will lack fans with the economic strength and following to succeed. I have first-hand experience with the region in terms of the failed Southern Spears attempt as well as direct work with the provincial teams that will make up the franchise.

this would be there brand new stadium, they have an administration in place now, coaches and some players have been sounded out but no announcements will be made til after the licence is awarded.

Please lets not all start this rubbish again. No one wins, we all lose.
Ja sure, I hate this S15 idea from the start. Why on earth they let this one go to a S15 is just beyond me. We all should have played our domestic competition first, then the top 4 go in a Super Competition and have the Tri Nations to end the SH season.

Unfortanetly it wont happen and we are going to get a stupid S15 competition that is going to kill either the CC and the NPC.

No amount of bleating on the part of Saru or us regular Saffer rugby supporters will change the fact that the 15th franchise will be an Aussie one. (I would bet my nuts on it).
Everything else - including forcing the matter to arbitration - is irrelevant and just hot air and posturing by Saru to avoid losing (more) face.

And I still think expanding to a 15th team was a stupid idea.
(Hell, I thought SA getting a 5th team was already pretty dumb).

the super 15 is structured the way it is so that the curry cup isnt affected, thats why everyone plays one less team every year.

this was a concession made for south africa cos they already sold there rights to the CC and didnt want to have to pay the money back.

as much as you piss and moan, south african rugby needs this, without it, they would suffer.
