I don’t see an issue, competition forces you to step up. If he wants more minutes earn them. Same goes the other way with Tupou
I'm saying he is earning it. It's not binary, both (or all three) can perform well and deserve to be starting. Talakai should go to the Reds or 'Tahs.

Fascinating hearing how much team motivation and chat from Eddie helps Pone. It must so tough for a big guy to get going and keep it going.

“I think Eddie’s been massive for me, hey,” Fa’amausili said.

“Everyone knows that Eddie gets stuck into me on the field in training. He’s always giving me chats.
“He’s just one of the best for me. I don’t know where the chats come from, but he’s just pushing me to my limit and he just really wants to see me change my mindset.
“I feel like I’ve always had it. It’s just the mindset. I’ve put it into training, trialling it in training with a mindset shift and I put it onto the paddock.
“Little micro chats on the field have helped me. He obviously was not in my ear on the field, but the boys got around me because I’ve let them know as well that when I’m fatigued I need this and that. That’s passed down now.

“I’m really happy with how I played, but there’s room for improvement and I’m obviously hoping I’m in the squad come the next five days to go to the World Cup, but I’ll be putting my hand up for that three jersey.”

I see the final of the APS is saturday Brighton hosting StK, has there always been finals? I thought it was like all the other sports in the APS & a premiership awarded to who ever was on top?

Nup always finals (at least past two decades). Will always remember being robbed by Skevvies in the '13 final by a dodgy touch judge on their payroll, and no I haven't updated my biases in the past 10 years.

Not only a couple of Rebels young guns rolling out tomorrow for EH but also a 35 cap wallaby super rugby winner casually rolling off the bench! how awesome

Nice to see Siliva still running around.

Digby off the bench, wonder what his pace is like these days.
Still fast. Watched him chase down a player a few weeks ago who had a 15m head start, Digby had to also cover ground from an angle so had further to run.

'24 is looking promising - Watched the Wests vs Bond match - Vaihu brothers running riot, Mason Gordon steering the ship, Angelo Smith played well - Canham off loading for fun at 6 for Bond, Matt Gibbon dominating - Great stuff

Eloff had that nice try at the end of the game as well..

Other name to worth mention from this season is Zac Hough. I think he must of picked up concussion or big hit in last weeks game so looked to be out injured on weekend… but he’s been playing house down. Great over the ball and his running in support play with the outside backs on counter attack has been good as well.

At the Rebels fan event recently, Nick Stiles called him out as a replacement for Dickie - Great that they're all playing together

Next year will be our year!!!

So Hough is still around, I had suspicions that he'd be released because he seemed out of favour.

those Vaihus in particularly are about to break through. They are looking red hot - Glen at fullback has been a weapon.
Fullback is interesting. Would he be as effective on the wing? I would love to keep Kellaway at 15 for us and Wallabies. I have the feeling Foote might try and push him to 13.

People watching QPR how's M. Gordon going? anywhere close to being Super ready?

Kellaway, G. Vaihu, Daugunu, Lancaster, Anderson, don't go into 3. I liked Daugunu's brief stints at 13 this year.

I'd go
11. G. Vaihu
12. Proctor
13. Daugunu
14. Anderson
15. Kellaway
22. D. Vaihu
23. Lancaster

I think Mason is ready for cameos only. Ideally get him a bit of game time in the first few rounds to see where he's at and let him take the experience back to clubland knowing what he needs to aim for if he's not ready. I think Proctor is probably the starting 13 rather than 12 with either Feliuai or Vaihu given first shot there, but either way you'd hope that between Daugunu, Ripley and Proctor there are enough options at 13 that Kellaway can stay at fullback and focus on his game there. I'd be starting Daugunu on the wing or on the bench covering 13 and wing in that case.

Not for the rebels but a Dewar shield side should have a crack, I got a phone call from a mate up in melboune & Will Chambers is playing aussies rules for East Brighton. If he has settled back in melb he would be a great get.

Thinking the same thing. Can't ask for a better season opener to gain momentum. My off season confidence is rising. Hopefully Gordon gets through the RWC unscathed.
A lot at home in the first half of the season, only 2 in the 2nd half of the season. Need to be secure in the top 8 before going to ACT and Fiji in the last 2 games.
