Lions Vs Reds

Watch as the records fall in Rd 09 of the 2010 S14 season, barring a late season renaisance by the Lions, the QLD Reds and players should stand to break a few records in in this match.

Points For

2010 - 245
2009 - 258
2008 - 258
2007 - 201
2006 - 240
2005 - 185
2004 - 217
2003 - 281
2002 - 336
2001 - 306
2000 - 317

Assuming the Reds maintain there habit of scoring 30points/match on average then the Reds side stands to have scored the higest points in a season since 2003.

Most Super points in a career

Quade Cooper is entering the record books as well with his point scoring ability in 2010. Quade has scored 104 points in 2010 on the back of his kicking form and a sneaky try every now and then.

609 Elton Flatley (1996-2004)
402 John Eales (1996-2001)
211 Chris Latham (1998-2008)
203 Nathan Spooner (1999-2001)
151 Shane Drahm (1997-2001)
141 Quade Cooper (2007- .......)

Most tries in a Super Career

Digby Ioane has 10 tries for QLD In his career, 1 more and he equals Jason Little on 11 tries.

41 Chris Latham (1998-2008)
31 Ben Tune (1996-2007)
18 Tim Horan (1996-2000)
18 Damian Smith (1996-2001)
17 Daniel Herbert (1996-2003)
12 Toutai Kefu (1996-2003)
11 Jason Little (1996-1998)
10 Digby Ioane (2008-.....)

Most tries in a Super season (+6)

Digby again needs a further 2 tries to equal Horan and Drahm for the most tries in a season record.

10 Chris Latham (2002)
8 Ben Tune (1996)
7 Chris Latham (2000 & 2001)
6 Tim Horan (1998)
6 Shane Drahm (1998)

Quade's 104 so far this season is the most in a season since 2003 when Flats scored 123.

Althought Shifcofske scored 104 in 2007.

What about Peter Hynes, 1 more and he equals Damian Smith's and Tim Horan's records? I am sure Quade is somewhere up there too.

We really should roll these c*nts, but I just have a bad feeling. The week after their bye, we're at the end of our tour getting tired. I'm just waiting for the Reds of old to spring forth and collapse in a heap.

Just looking at the ages of Diggers, Genia and Quade, Reds could see some records fall during their careers if they stay at the Reds.

Do you think Mckenzie will continue to rotate some players for this game? I'm thinking Davies on the wing. Fainga'a back at hooker. Simmons for Byrnes.

yeah I think Fainga'a will be back. And Simmons.

Davies for who? For Morahan? Much of muchness for mine.

Part of me wonders whether we will see Ben Tapuai start with Anthony Fainga'a getting a rest?

Wasn't the whole reason Link took these young lads over, and didn't take Morgan, was to see 'what they've got'?

Tapuia and Chambers in the centres may be a risk I guess, but its a pretty exciting combo too.

Yeh forgot about A. Fainga'a, has been playing full games pretty much all season. If anything, if we are leading by enough at half time, old Link will make some changes then.

Yeh you may be right, probaby better not mess with the team too much. Davies has been good from the bench recently, no need to change that.

They need to finish their tour with a win.
If we are winning well you may see some changes in the latter half of the game.
Cooper may also sit down early.

I really hope Tapuai gets a run at 12. He is an outstanding prospect.

I don't think the Reds can shrug this game off just yet, it might me easier than some of there matches, but the Lions have nearly beaten the Chiefs, and Highlanders.

Calling them fluffybunnys maybe your reason for the bad feeling, can promise you the Lions are a hurting bunch and wont be the same lot on tour. If Dick Muir get his picks right (no Rose/Spencer, Wikus van Heerden a must)this game can be a cracker.

Me thinks this could be a banana skin game for the Reds. Last game of tour, at altidude, comming off a real bruiser the week before. Lions are rested up and now at the point where they have nothing to lose and can build. I can assure you Paarl that this little Reds supporter has plenty of respect for the Lions.
