The Reds also have vested interest in having their Wallabies play as the game stands to be a financial windfall for the QRU.. With Genia, Quade, Ioane and Horwill playing they could draw in excess of 40'000, if they don't play the crowd will be significantly smaller.

I'm sure all clubs at in a similar boat but as qwerty pointed out the Reds are realistically the only team which will be able to capitalize on this due to the schedule of tests and Super Rugby matches.

The risk to the ARU/Deans is that the Reds with those players and adopting an attacking game plan devised by Link are a good possibility of beating the Lions, but the Wallabies with those players and adopting Deans' no game plan are likely to lose. Comparisons could be embarrassing.

good point ;)
However if that were to happen it would just be argued that Gatland implemented different tactics.

Not playing our best players leads to a greater risk of injuries. The greater the skill differential, the greater the chance of the lesser skilled getting badly injured.

Looks like Tommy Bowe stands no chance of making the Lions, he is going to miss the entire 6 nations after having surgery on his knee last week. Sidelined for 4 months I can't see room for him in the Lions squad when he is only going to be just back on the field.

George North did play on the weekend so should be back in the Wales fold.

I'm a MyRugby member through refereeing connections - Smart Rugby etc. I got an email from the ARU two weeks ago to sign up for Lions pre sale tickets and did so. I then found that I can't login to MyRugby, as I wanted to check my login worked in preparation of buying the tix - I don't know 'MyRugby' username, I only have my MyRugby ID. I emailed the ARU regarding this but haven't got a reply back, so I still can't login.

I was just wondering if we just use our MyRugby ID number and first name, last name to get pre sale tickets or if we will need our username. If I need my username it will be a pest to ring the ARU etc and find it all out. Anyone got knowledge on this one?

Whenever I have bought tickets through Ticketek using my MyRugbyID, all I need to enter is that ID as the presale password.

That's what I have done in the past, but I wanted to check that it's not different this time - after all the demand is such for these games that people will probably legit try and use the pre sale without an ID and the ARU might put in a bit more security..

Given the inventiveness or lack thereof for the Tahs Lions presale password (which is all over Irish message boards atm) I thought it might similar for the test tickets! I’ll give my Myrugby ID a shot but not holding out too much hope for this round of sale. Looks like I’ll have to take my chances in the general sale...

Just as I submit this I get an email saying that Myrugby ID can be used to pre purchase tickets! And here I was worrying over nothing!

You just need to quote your MyRugby ID, got an email. That number is the most precious thing in my life until next Tuesday afternoon

A full-strength Reds against the Lions at a packed Suncorp would be awesome.

Will there be a G&GR cabal? Could we organise seats together?

I hope it will indeed be packed. It certainly should be. Platinum seating is only $65 cf. $235 for Gold at Wobs v Lions (I was waaaay too slow out of the blocks to snare Platinum), so there must be many who missed out entirely on the latter.

Re organising seats: Reds members have an 8 ticket limit for Reds v Lions cf 1 ticket for Wobs v Lions. Makes bulk bookings a bit easier...

Did anyone get their tickets through todays presale? Got Melbourne and Sydney test tickets although the seats available for both games just seemed to restricted view (in the Bronze category anyway). Has anyone had these restricted view category in ANZ or Etihad before? Just want to make sure I'll be able to see some of the action.

A Junior Club pre-sale offer lobbed into Chez Jarse email inbox last night.

Don't have all the details committed to memory but it seemed to be just for the S15 franchise games vs the Lions. IIRC Special offer Tix were $10 for kids (presumably in the seats behind the goal posts) with $25 kids and $50 Adults for Gold seating.

The Reds members cleaned up. I got in right on 12 and got halfway up the second tier. It's going to be great.

I had restricted view in row 1 in Sydney for World Cup semi v NZ. Only couldn't see a bit of the in-goal due to advertising placed behind it.

Did not effect enjoyment though.

I got my tickets for the Brumbies game and the Melbourne Test, already got Sydney test and Newcastle tickets through Waratahs membership and season tickets includes Tahs game.
All accommodation is sky-high so decided to splash on Platinum Melbourne tickets.

Got tickets to Sydney through the presale. Went silver because I've sat up the back (2nd last row) For the Bledisloe before and while still fun, wasn't as enjoyable as other games. Happy with my seats in one of the corners elevated. Pumped already

Row 4 in ANZ in the corner so hopefully advertising won't be a problem. Row 1 in Etihad so thats the biggest issue not worried! Roll on June! Cant come soon enough at this stage
