The Lions is the one franchiose who I think are at the bottom of their cycle at the moment. They had a bad S14 in 2009, ending with Loffie Eloff reing and promises of a three year to get them going. Well in the end Loffie ending with some kind of his own kingdom in Lion country, picking his favourate players and a lot of politics in Lion rugby. Well their ceo did the right thing fire Loffie and the getting rid of Jannie Ferreira and starting the CC with a clean sheet. The negative of their CC champaign was that they end in 6th spot but then stats dont always tell the true story. They lost a few close games and not much init between 6th and 3rd spot on the log. One big positive for the Lions is that they appoint Kevin de Klerk as vice president, a old Transvaal Legend Bok and gave the CC coaching to Hans Coetzee. Not that young in years but surely a old Monnas (their strongest schoolboy team and Heinke's dad their current coach) schoolboy coach coming through their coaching ranks and in my books did prett well to get Balie Swart exct involved there. Jake White was also involved but word from the Lion den is that Jake stir more kak there then anything else and the Lions actually start playing decent rugby the day they took him away from the players. The one improvement from S14 till the end in their play I did saw is that one DEFENSE. The Lions leak the least tries in the CC and that one show me that they are finally on the right track. The other BIG positive for them is that they have three provinces now playing top level CC, Golden Lions, Leopards and Pumas. The Leopards and Pumas have some excellent up and coming coaches in Chaka Willemse & Stonehouse. Think Stonehouse is a excellent coach, a guy that coach a club in Brute country from nowhere to two Carlton League titles and coaching WaterKloof schoolboy side before taking the Pumas from nowhere to First Division champs. Write this two coaches names down.
They sure lose a few senior players like Genl Petoors to the Force and Jac Fourie to the Stormers , Ernst Joubert up north but they also bought a few.
They started yesterday with their 2010 S14 preparations and their player sqaud at the moment are
