To me, Deans is trying to get the Aus side to play more like a Kiwi side.

A bit more lateral, with more reliance on one on one talent to beat a man or pace on the outside to go around them.

To me it makes sense from turnover, but we are getting bogged down in phase play as we are used to much more structure in attack.

The positives, he has got the backs working much harder off the ball and or set piece has improved at scrum time and our lineout is surviving without a poacher.

The negatives, he also attempts to not commit too many units to the ruck, fine until you meet a rabid ABs or Boks prepared to hurl men there.

It is interesting that he is doing the same type of stuff that he did with the ABs with Mitchell and getting rid of the "oldies", we will see how that finishes up.
Mitchells "We lacked experience" quote after the 2003 semi was gold considering he had dropped Oliver, Randell and Merhtens.

Also, he talks gobbledegook.

Just thought I'd throw that analysis in there.
Mate when Deans and Mitch were coaching together, I doubt there was one single All Black supporter in the entire country who could decipher what they were raving on about. I know they had me stumped. There was school of thought at the time that Deans was the puppeteer pulling all the strings though.

I know a week is a long time in top level rugby but I was impressed the way the Wallabies played against the Bokke in Brisbane. Myself thought hell they beat us in our own game. They should have played the same way this weekend but then they try to run from way to deep. Henry and the All Blacks had no answer to the Bokke Bulls kind of game. Vital to try and run against the All Blacks, one turn over and you pay the penalty.

I'll go back to the much critize Snor and his coaching panel, I think he outsmart both the Cartell and Deans with the way the Bokke played in the TriNation. Perth convinse me we can change gameplan but we went into Brisbane against a motivated Wallaby team that played passionate for 80 minutes. Maybe they did it all against the Bokke and use tup their usual only playing for 40 minutes per match.

Red Beard, prior to last weeks game I still had full confidence in Deans but it was shaken by how lacklustre the Wobbs were in Wellington. I blame the players more than Deans for that, but I will be mighty pissed off if he is not reading the riot act and making some changes given that limp wristed performance as it was unacceptable even in a dead rubber. Otherwise we will have learned nothing and be capable of not turning up to play again at any time.

Alot will be riding on the EOYT tour now. Good results will be needed for Deans to be sure of his job going into next year. Reality is if we are going to change coaches then this will be our last realistic opportunity.

Personally I hope the team responds and plays at a consistently high level with high intensity as I think Deans has the potential to coach us to alot of success and I can't think of who would be better placed to replace him.

Yeah it was a real dance of the desperate that last test in Wellington. Both teams had plenty to play for, nobody wants the wooden sppon. It just looked like the ABs were playing out of their skins and the Aussies were unable to. Mind you seven days earlier in Hamilton it was the All Blacks who got pumped for the first forty without firing a single shot.in

You know, I think the Wallabies should maybe bring Connolly back, he probably wouldn't want to come back. But maybe as something like an advisor. He could help the young blokes get into mental strength, and have them get out of their bullshit ego.

How have Ewen's stars fallen? I would've thought the way he's turned the Reds around so far this season would bode well for his chances. Early days, I know. But still.

Eh? I've promoted him.

I did make a mistake in posting and had to delete my first list. Perhaps that's the list you commented on? Sorry.

Yeah, the list above has changed from the one I commented on. Fair enough. :thumb

I would have thought they would have shuffled a little. Ireland are playing alright aren't they?

He's a defensive coach not head coach.

He's a defensive coach not head coach.

And a bloody good one at that, one of the best. The Tahs' defence has gone backwards since Les left while Ireland's has improved considerably. If Kiss was still around last year there's no doubt in my mind the Tahs would've made the semis. Easily.
