League Targets

I don’t want to get too ahead of myself, but you’d think the managers of these NRL guys would have approached RA with something along the lines ‘if this R360 thing goes pear shaped do you think my guy can get a run somewhere’. Or perhaps Tindall has NH clubs underwriting them, probably the next best outcome.

The NRL are all bark no bite. Maybe someone like Lomax might end up having to run around in Japan for a while but guys like Haas would find their way back into a team pretty quickly.

Players in the PI community can also be pretty loyal and they wouldn’t risk having a few players stick with the likes of Haas and further damage the game.

Depending who you talk to, it’s a situation like that which caused Kerevi to sign outside Australia about a month after Folau was released back in 2019.

Talent always has a home. Some sides may be all stoic and tough but the moment a guy like Haas is back available half the sides will lobby the NRL to forgive and forget as we should always want the best players.

French Billionaires will also not give AF about national bodies positions.

Will RA still stick to their non R360 selection policies if players with the stature of Haas, Lomax or Papenhuyzen make that jump? Would (almost) be silly not to.
Haas is arguably the most devastating contact sport athlete in the world. A guy of his size can play 80mins in a League Front Row.

If Rugby had a shot at home who fucking cares who’s nose might be out of joint. Be a better player then.

The ‘Haas Law’….if you’re Payne Haas you are exempt from the 10 year ban.

Agree though, V’landys (the horse racing guy) didn’t really think that one through (like most things he does) and there has been a fair bit of pushback about it from the clubs.

Match up of Pieter-Steph du Toit against Payne Haas.

Haas is already plays between 115-120kg. With less running required he could sit at 125kg in Rugby at least and run over guys.

I don’t know how you’d stop him close to the line. Palu was massive but moved like his size. Haas is massive with Centre speed over 20-30m

100%, Haas won’t be banned for 10years if he put his hand up to return.. no fucken way in hell would they turn him down especially with the added profile he would bring back if he did
