Hurts but Katoa also said he'd want to be an AB.

I'll give you an outside one who could be shit/could be good is Lachlan Illias. Was an Aus School Boy at Centre but unwanted by the Dragons.

Realistically he wouldn't break the bank and if it failed it's no skin off your back. He's a pretty good player who's been shafted by a father/son combo.

That's good. His direct intent is to be right in the eyes of coaches for the RWC. He's going for one of the heavily contested spots as well. Outside backs are stacking up. Petaia likely a 15/Centre option but also back in Rugby.

Finishes 2026 September. Plays Japan December '26 - June '27. When does Super '27 fit in?

I agree with you. Would not demand a huge amount of money, and could be a very competent flyhalf in Super Rugby. Would not hurt to give it a go, the current crop aren't going to change into world beaters. Not sure what Super club he would end up at though.

I posted when it was announced he was coming back that if his goal was to make the wallabies for the World Cup he would need to sign with a super rugby side, it’s the only way he could play enough rugby leading into it

I don’t think we can afford not to do it, otherwise we’ll risk not getting out of the pool stages again, we need to at least make the semis for this one. There is a strong possibility of third party involvement I would wager.

We say we have no money well the Rugby Australia future fund is now up to 25 million and getting 15 - 17% a year in returns. How much is being invested in High Performance I am not sure but this would be alleviating some of the costs.

That’s not RAs money, it’s wholesale investors investing in a fund where the fund managers have waived their fee and in return 1% of gross fund assets will be invested back in Australia Rugby High Performance each year. That $25million invested translates to $250k a year which actually goes back into rugby.

Maybe I didn't type it correctly that is the future fund and then there is the Australian Rugby Foundation separate to that not sure how much that generates a year at this stage it obviously fluctuates as well. I think this is actually all spent directly on the game.

We’d have some money if the kiwis agreed to that Anzac test in Perth.

When you register for the union it doesn't stop until you transfer out of the union so he is a Rugby Australia player at the moment in the eyes of World Rugby as he hasn't received a transfer request which all players have to/are meant to do when they move (obviously definitely happens in the professional game).
