Is there much RA can do about junior player numbers out west or do the have to channel any initiative / funding through the whole NSWRU / SRU / SJRU / Penrith District pathway (hope I haven't missed any)

Latrell Mitchell, if he feels the booing is racially motivated and is thinking of walking away from league, then why not try union?

One thing super rugby guarantees is zero racist booing as the stands are completely empty every week

This would be up there with an Eddie Jones belief that any publicity is good publicity. He's such a fantastic player but is so up and down off the field wise it's concerning about what goes on between the ears. He's someone who should definitely delete social media.

Zac Lomax strikes me as a guy that could be good in Rugby who's on the market but hearing his contract was 800k keeps it as a fleeting thought.

It was a joke. But if he did quit you’d put an offer to him. You’d have to pay a league player massive overs to get them to leave. Where as if they have walked out on the code you can put a more realistic offer to them

The concerning thing with Zac Lomax released from St George, it frees up money and a position on the wing for them to chase Petaia as previously rumoured

Oh I know it's a joke. Jokes can still make you shudder.

Good point. They are keen on Turuva at the Panthers as well so hopefully he's the main target who would go for less than Lomax and Petaia with what he could get overseas in Rugby if pushed.

Jack Howarth coming off the Storm bench for his 2nd NRL cap in 3 years tonight. It’s hard to fathom they’d sign him for $500k a year and have barely used him since he has been there

No wonder the word was he’s being shopped around. Still young for a backrower so who knows but it’s a lot of cash to be playing State Cup most weeks.

Make me feel better about Vunivalu - at least he's being used most weeks

Can not fathom that guy is on such a good wicket (and trying to get out of it). Serious overs considering what others are on.
He did re sign at a moment when he was playing Fullback as well. Makes a bit more sense but he's never played a rep game (PMs XIII don't count).
Must properly have the shits there as well as it sounds a mutual in being released. Dragons won't have to pay any of his contract if he finds a deal he wants. Can't see how he doesn't take a pay cut of some sort.

Average salary $420k.

By 2027 the minimum salary is 150k.

NRLW salary cap going up by 600k by 2027 to 1.5m as well with 3-4 more sides. Guess where they’ll be looking talent….
Yup. Stay at home, play in front of big crowds and tv audiences, be a household name. It'll be even more and more compelling for men and women. The Penrith or Paris argument dwindles year on year

Joseph Manu has signed with Toyota Verblitz for their 2024/25 season.

They've also confirmed Ian Foster as HC.
Silly question, since he has been in Aus from 2016 onwards, does that make him eligible to represent the Wallabies? Or do those years not count as he was playing the wrong code. He would be pretty handy for the Wallabies....

Apparently Manu was offered $800k by the Roosters, and Verblitz deal is $1m+ a year. It also leaves the door open to return to the Roosters half way through 2025 when they have salary cap space.
