No don't stop it.

An Irish lawyer who spends his spare time defending dirty Irish players and bum refs on an Aussie forum.

Light entertainment.

Gentlemen, I think there comes a point where we have to agree to disagree in the interests of future peace. In my opinion that point on this thread has been reached.

Agreed. The flathead (other than shark) should accept that he has been dinnered, stop whingeing and get fried.

Dear Iraqi minister for information,

Unless Kearney has perfected the art of running leaning back at 45%, then this photo is quite clearly taken on his way down to the ground, which is why his head is under Palu's arm.

I'm no physician, but I believe the piece of anatomy above the shoulder line is the neck. If Palu had caught Kearney around the neck, then it would have been very clear, and Kearney wouldn't have bounced back like he did.

Gagger, what else is above the shoulders? Usually sits on top of the neck? Is what Palu's left hand is in contact with in that photo...?

Actually the photo doesn't conclusively show Palu's left hand in contact with anything. A shot from above or side on would be a different matter, but from the angle in that image there's no way to know if there's been any contact. Given that Kearney's nose wasn't mashed across his face, he got up fine, there was no reaction from his teammates, Kaplan didn't penalise Palu for a high shot, the footage didn't seem to show that Palu hit him high (unless there's some damning amateur footage shot from high in the stands with a mobile phone ala 'Tana/Mealamu/BOD-gate') etc etc I think you're clutching at straws. It may well have been simply luck that there was no contact, ie Kearney bounced off Palu's shoulder before hand could meet head, but you're drawing a long bow to claim that players should be penalised for 'almost' making a high tackle!

That's a pretty ordinary photo Thomo - shame shame. Palu hit him right on the chest, right on the ball, and he flew backwards as one does when one is travelling at high pace, and meets another object moving at high pace, only bigger. Basic physics really.
