Ummm no..

That is clickbait, he is not training with the Reds currently as he is non-available for selection and is organising himself for court on Thursday.

He is on a modified program from the Reds, and will start training with the squad again next week.

I think a mandatory 4 year ban for supplying friends with a recreational drug is draconian.
It's designed to end their careers.

And the counterpoint from Hoiles in the SMH

Hoiles said that as professional athletes with high profiles, footballers should expect greater scrutiny than they would receive were they a member of the general public - despite the school of thought of some that they should not and neither be treated as role models.

Hoiles expressed his view on Monday as the Waratahs reassembled after their 38-28 win against the Rebels in Melbourne on Friday to start preparations for their next game against the Reds in round four, after their round three bye this week.
"All athletes need to understand they are paid well to not just perform well on the field but to be role models off the field," said Hoiles.
"There is a lot that goes into [the role] in this day and age. A lot of the money comes from TV rights and things like that.
"A lot of that is because … the Aussie battler will spend hard-earned money to go and take their kids to go and see their role models.
"That's why a lot of these players get paid so well. You have got to take the good with the bad. You are in the spotlight a bit more often.
"It's a privileged life to be a professional footy player"

Probably but KHunt was with the Suns for years and it is reasonable to suspect some other players from them may have an involvement.

Talk is the cocaine train is on its way to Sydney.

It would make sense, it is the wealthy middle classes drug of choice, many Eastern Suburbs parties (and not the kiddies) are laden with it each weekend. It is the rich person's drug, they don't steal CD players to pay for it.

It was also reported when Wendall was done that it was the pro sportsmen's Sunday night drug of choice, go out have a few lines, a couple of drinks and 48 odd hours later it is out of the system.

Wendall was only caught because he stupidly took it too close to game day

Seriously I hope the matter is finished and Rugby and League hit the headlines for all the right reasons.

This shit is everywhere,

Driving into work today there is a REDS poster with KH on it. How much will it cost to replace all the promotional gear with KH's face on it. Regardless of what happens he is a tarred brush and I am sure the QRU / ARU will not want any promotional information with KH smiling dial on it.

I'm not sure it is a counterpoint.
I don't disagree at all with the points Hoiles makes.
If the game wants to protect its image, and play hardball with players who break the law, whether it be illicit drugs, drink driving, assault, stealing or whatever.
Then terrific,I'm all for it.

But I am not for mandatory 4 year suspensions for use of recreational drugs, that are imposed by the mob who can't catch anyone for performance enhancing(their core duty),whilst all other indiscretions earn the culprits a warning or a fine.

so long as the fucking thing heads south of the border.

Sydney is the drug capital - must be everywhere,

I snowboard down a mountain of it every day just to get to work

Get over this perception that Sydney is better or worse than anywhere else. Have a look at the infrastructure on the Gold Coast and ask yourself: even with tourism, how the fuck did those massive buildings go up? There is no corporate infrastructure to speak of, after all.

Look they could catch every drug cheat pretty well by changing the testing processes (blood and hair have a longer memory that piss), it just depends how invasive we want the testing to be.

You're all for playing hardball with players who break the law, but not for suspensions for breaking the law? Isn't that how sporting organisations do hardball? It is, after all, the organisation in charge of drugs in sport. They don't really have any jurisdiction over assault, stealing or bubbling.

Most performance enhancing drugs don't show a reliable marker in hair. With the exception of EPO, HGH and a few others, urine is almost as reliable as blood for the basics. Blood is used in the sports where EPO is rife (cycling).

The real issue is that - at the top of the game - the scientists working on the tests are not as good as the ones working on beating them. Not as well resourced, either.

Ultimately, the ones getting caught are the ones who can't afford the designer drugs and do stupid stuff like taking Nandrolone or Equipoise.

Wonder which professional sporting club is next? Not many left.

I heard the Suns mentioned on the news. But someone I know who is more knowledgeable than me advised me to get my money in on NSW for Origin now, because Qld won't have much of a team.

Mind you, that's the normal hyperbole you get around this sort of thing.
