Kaplan always gets a load of abuse in this forum...

After yesterday I have a new found respect for that abuse.

Just woeful, he was wrong on one of the penalties aswell O Brien was not offside.

Twas the linesmans fault anyway... the ball was out for at least 10 seconds, so its not as if it was a marginal call!

Paddy Wallace should be shot aswell

Just watched the game. It is time for Jonathan to be put out to pasture. He really isn't up to scratch any longer. That was really bad for a ref at that level. To not even check with the touchie. Terrible.

Oh, he did check with the TJ. Who said it was the same ball as was kicked in. F.F.S!!!!

Even then, Sexpest missed a sitter and Paddy Witless decided that this:

was the time to cut back in. Not to pass to Keith Earls, mind, but to cut back into the defence.

Jesus wept.

Do you think that the Ireland coach should try the Dr. Ward solution? Unless you've doctored the photo that decision is so criminal it deserves jail time.

Kaplin needs to take as much blame for this as the AR Peter Allan. The kick from Sexton that ended up in touch landed in the crowd. Kaplin should have noticed this, even if it was the same ball, it was touched by the crowd and another player, so couldn't be taken quickly. Although technically he couldn't use the TMO, he did have the option to ask "is there any reason I cant award this try?" and hoped that the TMO would give him a way out. I'm sure the stink wouldn't have been as bad if the right decision was made the wrong way rather than the wrong decision made the right way.

All this aside, Ireland didn't deserve to win the game and neither did Wales. It was a rubbish game played by two overly negative teams with Ireland's game plan seeming to revolve around stupid grubber kicks and Wales kicking the leather off the ball.
