It's a good development. International teams taking on Queensland, for example, takes me back to happy times at Ballymore.

I agree its a good development but I suspect that it wont be all of the A team that is fielded.
Didn't the Reds do this in the 90's? I seem to recall Brendan Cannon getting his first cap for QLD (not the Reds) when he came on. His lineout throwing that night was by far the worst I had and have ever seen. At one point he threw it in inside his own 22 and nearly hit the opposing halfback........

Good to hear that this is happening as I asked the Tahs admin about the possibility of a game against a touring international side this year during the mid season break. However, was told it was unlikely as it wasn't economical to do it. So it looks like they maybe able to make it work.

that is a puzzling response from the Tahs (even by their standards)- I'm still trying to get my head around it: it could be played @ Parra Stadium, North Sydney Oval or a 1/4 full Olympic Stadium...oh wait, they've already organised that

Yeah, that's what I thought. I was asking about a Wales match as they are here for a three Test series, but the impression I got was that the match fees for Wales was a significant stumbling block. So maybe they got a better deal with Scotland ....or maybe the Brumbies beat them to securing Wales  .

It never occurred to me that we would be liable to pay the welsh players....why not split the gate and they can back themselves

I hope the Irish fly over mid week to Melbourne (from NZ) and play the Rebs at AAMI.
