I don't mind that red card. I hate cards. But you have to protect the players. Otherwise players like Izzy won't be good in the air because they will be knocked out every game. If you get away with it saying eyes in the ball it's dangerous. We will have all the best guys in the air in danger.

Can we swap McKenzie and J.Barrett? Hell, Perenara could probably do a better job at first five. And L. Whitelock may be a good defensive blindside, but, outside of the Highlanders, he's not a #8. Has the go-forward of a melted marshmallow.

Nisbo trying to tell us how hard it is to play against 14 players, righto mate.

It seems that Eden Park is having some sort of mind numbing effect on home teams this year.

NZ commentators don't know the rules tackler has to enter thru the gate, new rule this year.

2018 WORLD RUGBY LAW VARIATION TRIALS TACKLE Laws 14.5(b) and 14.6 The tackler must get up before playing the ball and then can only play from their side of the tackle ‘gate’. (PK)

Note: A tackler who ends up on their opponents’ side of the tackle must roll away immediately. Previously a tackler (player who goes to ground in the act of making a tackle) could play the ball from any direction after getting up. RUCK Law 15.2

Worst commentary. Doesn't even know the laws of the game. Tj has to come through the gate tackler or not. And who cares if yeh last penalty was 10 min ago. Warning is a warning. What a sped

Also too for all those All Black apologists is Kieran Reid really in a position to challenge in this contest? Maybe not a red card because landed ok but proper interpretation would be a penalty kick to British Lions. Same half wits with double standards are commentating this game as well.

OK terrible law. But Angus decides whether the fullback was in a position to contest the ball, thats subjective. He could still easily have given a yellow. Yes i know thats not what the current interpretation mandates, but he is the one refereeing the game. I just think the Red option for this sort of error is wrong. If the player truly id negligent or really does have no chance to compete the fair enough. We have all seen far worse up endings result in a penalty only. Just my take on how its currently interpreted. As someone above said too black and white in game full of grey areas and game to game interpretations.

Hell mate I not arguing I dislike the result of what happened, I was more saying under the laws he had no choice. Perhaps we either say don't jump or you are allowed to be taken out, is the only way it would be fair!

What do you reckon? Realistic or not?
