Has Speight learnt how to tackle yet ? A complete turnstyle in defence.

He's got close to an 80% success rate this year.......... but as Cyclo mentioned his defence hasn't really been an issue.

On the other hand Naivalu has made 19 tackles, and missed 15.

How much of that will be the Rebels team defence being absolutely useless, and he Brumbies still being one of the best in the comp.

Regardless, Speight should be starting over Sefa, but I'd have both of them in the 23.

Thats tough on Sefa. He has outperformed Speight in a test jersey and you'd have to say the only reason he drops out is because he plays for the Rebels.

His defence is certainly an issue, at least at test level... it was mentioned numerous times in 2016 that Speight made poor defensive decision, at times looking completely lost...

Another reason why Naivaalu leapfrogged him by the end of the EOYT.

Agree. He can not tackle especially at test level, makes careless mistakes

Well, no.......... TOCC correctly rebutted that Speight had some defensive issues with the Wobs last year, which had to do with some mid-reads against Ireland and France (although there was some debate there), not his tackling ability.

Right now he seems to be back to pre-injury 2014 form so hopefully he can bring that to test level......... currently leads the competition in line breaks.

Henry is mostly a very good defender and has a knack of turning over possession in tackles he makes. Last year was an aberration, he was still recovering from severe leg and head injuries (remember the broken eye socket pictures?) and was playing mostly in 7s so he lost a fair bit of body mass, and when he turned out for the Wallabies he was hamstrung by the atrocious compressed defensive line that Grey introduced - this was the largest influence on his poor decision making in the tests.

This year his one-on-one defense has been strong and his cover defense outstanding - go back and see who the last line of defense was that brought down Beauden Barratt on at least two occasions on his opposite side of the field to stop two otherwise certain tries from the magician in the game against the Hurricanes.

Edit : Henry's form this year has been much sharper than Sefa's. The Wallabies' wingers for June should be Speight and DHP (if fit) or Folau/Sefa if DHP is not fit, depending where Folau is picked.
