With Coleman at Manly, Stevens at Parra and White likely to be more involved with the Brumbies side throughout the season, Queanbeyan's chances have dropped a fair bit.

I'd say so, but knowing Queanbeyan and how strong it is through the grades, particularly Colts, I'm sure they will find someone to fill in nicely.

Whilst Stevens going to Parra makes sense, I don't see why Robbie has signed with Manly - going off early signs, he is going to get a lot of game time, and if he was to be dropped, wouldn't be far from consideration.

It seems a pain in the bum to drive to sydney just for a weekend to play, then come back for Brumbies training the following week?

Really wish there was more financial clout amongst the ACT clubs, seeing local guys going up north is disappointing.

Coleman is joining his mate Tyler Stephens at Parramatta.

Queanbeyan 7s on this weekend so should get a lot of support there to watch the local clubs and also Randwick, Parramatta and Camden. I think only local clubs not involved are Easts and Wests.

We aren't involved, just because we are still only beginning fitness for a lot of the guys. No fitness = injuries, and in the past, we have had a pretty bad run with injuries at Queanbeyan 7's.

I destroyed my hamstring a couple years ago in a 100m sprint there, not fun!

Would suggest not. Parramatta's General Manager commented regarding earlier in the page.

I believe Easts from Sydney will also be at the 7s this weekend.

I also think Wests from Canberra are going to front?

White has signed with Eastwood, Coleman with Manly- both have failed to communicate this to the Queanbeyan Rugby Club.

Be interesting to see who turns out for which club tomorrow at the Queanbeyan 7s...
Parramatta bringing two sides down, Randwick there also, Tuggies with new coaching staff and new recruits, Gungahlin also...and then Royals with the side stacked with 7s rep players from both sides of the Tasman.

Did anyone go out to Queanbeyan on the weekend and check out the 7's comp?

Wests looked very fit and fast, and knew how to play 7's. Fou for them was pretty exciting. Best technique and tactics of any team on the day in my opinion.*

Gungahlin had some very quick backs, and were able to spread the ball quickly. Their new winger Jordy Garcia (from Easts 2010 squad) was very quick.

Vikings have a lot of new faces, didn't see any standouts. A lot of the players on show would definitely be more suited to 15 a side. Big but not overly quick.

Queanbeyan had a lot of numbers, but very few standout players. One was a blast from the past in Mark Henjak, who whilst looking very tubby, was making metres all over the shop. Did notice the small size of some of the queanbeyan players - some would have struggled to be 60kgs wet! Beath looked quick, but didn't see a lot of the ball with space.

Uni norths looked pretty average, very small backs, and far too big forwards for sevens. Didn't see see a lot of their top grade backs play.

OzBoks (whoever they are?) were very strong and fast. Big physiques on a lot of the guys. Can anyone fill in on who they actually are? Most had Aussie accents from what I heard...

Royals had quite a few new faces, but didn't look too special. Majority of team looked too large/slow for sevens. Tim Cornforth and Ben Johnson looked sharp.

Easts didn't have a side in this year...

Queanbeyan looked ok, but your right didnt look to special but its 7s, wait till 15s roll around. OzBoks were Uni Norths A Side, all those boys are with Uni Norths this season. Wests looked Sharp also but I still think they will struggle with 15s this season. I would disagree with the ROyals comment, of all the Canberra sides, I thought they looked the best, watching their Semi Final against Randwick and they were robbed, 8 players played for Randwick in the last 4mins of the 2nd Half, they scored the 3rd try with that one man overlap. Like our Whites, Royals will be a force in the 15s, was good to see Soks Tai back and creating havoc. Their new boys looked very handy. After all, they beat our boys in the Quarters....Tuggies didnt look sharp at all...in fact, were very disappointing.

To be fair the Queanbeyan team was a rather young team, alot of the players that played will be playing colts this year. The West team looked a bit more like a specialist team. Hasn't that team been playing at a fair few 7's comps lately?
I thought the OzBoks was a team with a few Uni Norths players and the rest were from South Africa. Will they be playing for Uni this year?
