Watched the end of seconds and Tuggies were well in control over Uni and had a fair few good players in reserve on the bench. I was hearing stripper music in my head whenever the ball went near Giltrap but he didn't do anything in the last 20 that would make his highlights reel.

If I hear that music next week when he runs out, I'll shower him with $10 notes

Should be some great games this weekend! You would expect Royals should be too good in the colts but anything can happen in a GF and all pressure will be on the undefeated team going into it.

Seconds and firsts could both go either way. I wonder how much a second grade win might build momentum leading into the main game?

Yea really can't pick it this week - very hard to say - let's have a crack though haha

1st Grade - Whites by 2

2nd Grade - Whites by 8

Colts - Royals by 7

3rd Grade - Gungahlin by 20

4th Grade - Wests by 3

Not sure if there will be much carry over from 2nd's to 1st's it could go either way - could motivated the 1st grade side if their 2nd grade side had lost or could pump them up if they win - honestly I think the players will be to focused on the game at hand they might not even know whats going on in 2nd grade really.

Geez No 8...do you really think the Vikings will lose all their games again?

Like I said it really is a tough one mate - of course being a Whites supporter I am going to back them haha - its 50/50 in 1st grade, prob 60/40 to Whites in 2nd Grade, 55/45 to Royals in Colts and again a 50/50 call V's Wests in 4th grade.

It could go either way with any team in the Grand Finals this year....

It will be surprising if they drop all games again this year after going 0 from 5 last year aswell. . . .

What was the story with Darra not contesting scrums when the prop was in the bin? Whites got the tap kick but I was surprised to see that in 1st grade?

Black LH was Yellow Carded, Black reserve LH shoulder injury with no trained LH replacement Gungahlin then have to play with 14 men (1st grade has 23 men) this was taken care of by the YC. There has never been a requirement to forfeit unless they are unable to start with contested scrums.

Sounds fair to me - thanks for the clarification.

Prem 1s is anyone's game, Tuggeranong coming off a bye haven't traditionally performed well, expect Queanbeyan to dominate up front and the Tuggeranong backline to be a little sharper than Queanbeyan.
Prem 2s Queanbeyan should dominate as they have all year.
Prem Colts Royal's Colts team have been too good for everyone this year and i would expect that to continue.

Had a beer last night with a tuggies mate and told him your thoughts on the stripper, ... he reckons that you are a hard bugger to impress. Says that while it may not have been Giltraps most dominant 20, he scored a try, set up another and saved one. We both agreed therefore, that player critique is largely dependent on the number of cans.

In fairness to me they had run out of programs and it took me a while to work out who he was haha. He certainly didn't do anything wrong in the last 20 - its more a reflection on the high quality of his highlight reel and the fact everything looks better set to a strippers sound track!

Vikings Squad announced today -

http://ucvikings.com.au/NewsStory/t...5/UC-Vikings-announce-2016-playing-squad.aspx

Only 2 non-contracted Queanbeyan players make the squad - very interesting - as I said in the Canberra Vikings thread - I guess it doesn't really mean anything having the best forward pack by a fair way in the comp?

How the likes of - JR, Elliot, Barbaro, Nadruku, Sok, Wilson didn't get in is very surprising - the only thing I can think of is maybe some turned it down?

To have colts players over some of the guys above is just crazy - I know development etc but come on.... i.e Barbaro - yes not the fittest guy in the comp but has outplayed every other prop he has come against this year. . .

How are the likes of the Dobson brothers there?

Let's just hope Penca and OJ get a start in the 23. . . . .

It's a pretty solid team! I'm comfortable with the balance of new faces and established players. Sok is an outstanding player but at his age the chance of higher honours has passed him. No doubt he would have been great if selected but I'd rather see a chance given to a player with better future prospects. I'd almost put Sione Taula in the same boat - great player but possibly time has passed him by. To be really controversial I'd put Penca in the same boat. Good player for the whites and no doubt will go well if given a start or two for the Vikings but most unlikely he will ever be a Brumby and perhaps he should be overlooked for someone like Wells?

Agreed. Very surprised Jones, White, Chalker, Tarrant, Spears and Marmont all missed out as well.
