The depth at the Whites at the moment is good.

Toby Wilson came off injured - looked semi-serious shoulder/arm injury - so he may be out next week - Penca I would say will be back full-time next week - so you may see Jones moved to the 2nd row - Wells at 6, Penca 7 and Noa at 8. JR was back in 2nds aswell - so you may see him back in 1sts - Do you put him at 12 with Tiatia staying at 13 or switch them? Not a bad prob to have - with Tarrant solid the last couple of weeks also.

You also have the chainsaw firing in 2nd's aswell - who could easily cover the back 3 in 1st's if needed.

If Wilson is good to go - I hate to say it but you may see Jones back in 2nd's - which may I say has a 1st grade quality back row at the moment anyway.

Whites 1sts/2nds are the front runners at the moment (2nd's should of got the W last week v's the Vikings).

Still plenty of rounds left but Queanbeyan are building nicely - not to be biased but I think 1 through 8 the Whites forwards are prob the best in the comp at the moment - with the backs needing a bit of refining they will be hard to beat - but as mentioned before this years comp is one of the closest in years so anything can happen on any given day.

How has OJ Noa been going this year?

I believe he is the form loose forward in the comp at the moment. Extremely powerful ball runner, positional play is great, great over the ball and at scrum time. Still early in the season but going well so far.

Getting in early this week. . . .

Round 7 -

Easts V Vikings @ Griffith

Whites V Royals @ Campese

Wests V Uni @ Jamison

Eagles - BYE

Easts V Vikings - Easts put everything into the Whites game on the weekend - and they looked good in parts - one of their big impact players Marco the Italian Full-Back and kicker came off injured in the 2nd half - with what looked to be a knee injury - if he is out this weekend that will be a big negative for the Easts side - I think the Vikings will meet a battered Easts squad this weekend - Vikings by 60+

Whites V Royals - This will be a tough game - I believe the Whites will have some of their more experienced guys back i.e Penca - who will def lift the side up a notch - Royals though are a big, strong, physical side though - tough one to predict - of course going to go Whites by 10 though.

Wests V Uni - Wests are the battlers this year nearly (them and Easts) - Uni coming off a Bye - so may of had time to fix up some sore bodies/injuries or maybe spend to much time in the Uni Pub - I am going to predict Wests to get their 1st win by 5.

I'd have the whities as premiership favourites at this stage. Royals are ticking along nicely and Tuggies are always strong but I'm liking the QBN depth.
I have Vikings taking it out this year. I think they're the strongest side over all. Plus it helps they have more money than most other clubs.

They certainly have the deepest pockets! What's the go with Brumby players returning at the end of the S15? Could Coleman roll out for QBN in finals and Royals pick up Staniforth etc? Guessing Tuggies probably have the most to gain with Ah Wong, Lealefiano, Butler etc

Good question, all quality players though, it's good they play as it keeps the comp strong.

Lealefiano played for Tuggies at the end of last year, Dargaville played for the Eagles in round 2 and royals had Anae on the weekend. Having Brumbies playing in the JID is good for the comp. Pick the best side you can.

It is very good, I still think some sort of equalisation needs to exist for the good of the comp. We are forever seeing Vikings pick up all the good players unfortunately, which really hurts things.

There is a quota system to spread out the local club alignment of brumbies. and although I agreed with you in principle how do we say that robbie able cannot play for Easts when he is not picked for the brumbies or that Nick Jooste can't play for wests when he returns from the under 20s world cup because they have brumbies contracts and might be better players than their opponent. surely this is what competition is about.

Basically if a contracted Brumbies player is cleared by the Brumbies to play in Club rugby and/or not selected that weekend to play in the Wallabies side or Brumbies side they will more than likely be turning out for the respective club sides.

I would say more than likely lealiifano will be in the Wallabies squad this year (unlike last) so wont be apart of the Vikings - but you never know.

On the weekend in the Easts V Whites game you had 4 Brumbies playing -

Whites -
Wells
Les Makin

Easts -
Enever
Abel

i.e if for whatever reason Pocock wasn't selected in the Wallabies side and was injury free etc he would be playing for Uni-Norths.

The rule should be that it doesn't matter who the player is coming back to play grade. It should be whoever it is plays for the weakest team and so on. I think that would work best.

No, that's unnecessarily silly and logistically complicated...........

The current system is fine.

I'm sure I saw Enever turn out for the Brumbies on Friday night. Did he back up again on Saturday?

And I'm sure Poey wouldn't turn out for Uni-Norths after the Brumbies and he decided not to use the Brumbies' bye week to get around one of the games he had to miss through suspension.

Yeah gotta say I'm with Slim on this one the current system works well. Who have the eagles got in their allocation in addition to Speight?
