Was the Tuggeranong player cited in the end?

Not that I'm aware of, guess it depends on whether it was caught on the video coverage. Could be hard to argue making that sort of impact on a players head was accidental I'd think!

Daramalan play the Red Men, our interstate neighbours (qbn) play the students, and the Tri Colours take on the Blue Baggers.
Last round games for JID season 2015, as sides gear up for the finals series which begins next weekend.

Major Semi -

Vikings V Whites

Minor Semi -

Wests V Royals

Whites by 3
Wests by 15

Watched the Whites play yesterday and they were great - a couple of little things to work on before next week - OJ Noa made a big difference - the whole Whites forward pack were great.

Possible Vikings 9/10/12/13 combo??

9 - Powell
10 - lealiifano/Iona
12 - lealiifano/Iona
13 - Frankie

Let's hope the Qbn boys can mess them up

To set the scene. Gungahlin could not make the finals, Tuggers were already assured the minor premiership. The Gungahlin fullback Jamie Kotz had already played an entire game of colts and lining up as the opposing fullback is none other than Brumbies and Wallabies star Christian Lealiifano. Following a week where he was told that the reason he did not make the Australian 7s youth side was that his “physicality” and “contact” were suspect, it would have been enough to pack up your kit and walk away. But instead Kotz took his position at the back ready for battle. After five he was wiping a stream of blood from his nose following some heavy contact but there was no suggestion that he would come off. After stopping the flow of blood with Tuggers fifteen out from the line Kotz set himself wide in defence and waited. Like lion stalking his prey, as the ball came out of the ruck and the fly half threw it wide, Kotz pounced, took the ball out of the air and set off down the field and it was “put down your glasses” “shut the gate” and the Eagles hit the lead. Kotz had proved his worth in attack but there was still one thing left to prove and his chance would come minutes later. Tuggeranong are not at the top of the ladder by accident and it was not long before they put the ball through the hands and Lealiifano came out the other side of the defensive line. The only thing between Lealiifano and his first points for the JID season was the kid that had admired him for years. Kotz, like a shag on a rock, staring down his boyhood idol did not take a backward step, lined him up and drove him into the ground. It was a moment for the scrapbook. As it happened the eagles were a couple down at the break, and would not get any closer. With Eagles players coming off firstly with a dislocated shoulder to their centre and then a broken ankle to their go forward man Rocky in the number 7 the Eagles could not make a dent. Kotz finished the match with a conciliation try to bag a brace for the third time this year in first grade. Even though Kotz sat down for ten after raking the ball out close to the line and Christian came from the field late, to my biased one eye Kotz got the decision on points in the battle of the fullbacks.

Great season Jamie could not be more proud.

Now if you want a review of the match that is less flowery and a little more Vikings centric it is below.

^^^ I think Uncle Joe just told you in the post above yours.

Is Jordon Fulavai injured? I thought he was a regular starting fullback for the Eagles.

I haven't seen Jordon since barbarians at the start of the year. think he was named at outside centre in round 1 but was called up to baa baas with Jonah Placid called up to the Rebels side. I did hear that he was injured but even so I have not seen him at any games. First grade fullback has been James Lovell or Jamie Kotz pretty much all year.

Yes. your point. I do not claim he is perfect. He is under 18s and playing JID firsts. I wasn't were you?

My point being he'd probably prefer you to express your pride in private rather than writing him up on a public forum as a superstar.

We should be building up our talented players, not knocking them down. I am Proud. I am happy to declare my allegiances. I go out and support the local comp. He may be a superstar in the future and when he makes a mistake in a wallabies jersey, as they all do, you can say I told you so. and I will celebrate the tries he scores.

The other thing we should be celebrating is having guys like Christian Lealiifano playing in the JID. For the guys playing that don't make rep teams they will be telling their kids about the day they played alongside/against a wallaby. For the crowd its like turning up at your local pub to find the rolling stones or 1 direction setting up in the corner. We should be using this type of thing to promote the sport, get media coverage and sign up juniors.

I'd be finding myself a new watering hole if One Direction turned up!

Exactly Mr Jarse, but as Green Day are unlikely to show up in Canberra (we might get Leo Sayer) if you can go to Nicholls oval and rub shoulders with Christian Lealiifano and Henry Speight a couple of days before they rejoin the Wallabies in camp surely it is worth the price of admission. you also get to see some pretty good local talent on display and be close enough to the action to feel every hit.
