Does anyone have information on who has actually made it the squad?
Grant are able to share who has made it from Queanbeyan?
Anyone from Royals, Gunghalin or Wests able to share?

Whites missed a conversion after the bell allowing Royals to win by a point. Reasonable game - for the Whities Nadruka was outstanding for most the game and Tom Staniforth would have been Royals best. Was Tom eligible for NRC selection? Penca was a menace all day and really stepped his game up towards the end. Royals look more composed with Pedeo at 9 although his kicking game is very hot and cold.

Just noting that the following players were good enough to make the Australian Barbarians under 20s side but not the Tuggeranong Canberra Vikings training squad.

Callum Smith – Tuggeranong
Brodie Leber – Western Districts
Dean Parragalli – Royals
Joel Brown – Easts
Jamie Kotz – Gungahlin

Leber is playing firsts

Joel Brown is regulaly playing firsts

Kotz was good enough to score a couple of tries on Saturday in Eagles firsts JID win over Easts

but if you are playing colts for Tuggies you can make the NRC side.

If those players were at Tuggeranong or Queanbeyan it's likely they would be playing colts.

That may be so, but what does that say about the distribution of talent. There is a reason that talented players are choosing to play for Tuggeranong and my assumption is that it provides the ability to be picked for the NRC team. Surely if it were a more even playing field the talent would be spread more evenly giving the most talented players the chance of playing first grade and then getting to play NRC from that. Thus making the JID less one/two sided. I believe that you have made my point.

So has Brad Harris stepped down from the Tuggeranong Vikings to focus on Canberra? Or is he still Tuggers coach?

Also where has Seilala Lam gone? Thought he was meant to be playing for Qbn this year???

Tom is a contracted brumby. That squad is only a club NRC squad.

Lala was picked up late last year by the auckland blues. Not sure what his contract situation with them is though. Played a trial match in February for a pacific nations side vs the force.

So now the great Tuggeranong conspiracy has claimed new victims, robbing Tuggeranong players from Vikings spots.................

The comment was not about whether the NRC selections were biased towards Tuggeranong nor was it suggesting that the players I mentioned should have been in the side. It was that there are players that are playing JID first grade that are obviously talented player as they were in the Baas baas U20 side that did not make the cut but players that are playing colts at Tuggeranong that have made it. I think that there is a perception that if they sign for Tuggers they have a better chance of being recognised for rep honours and that is why the talent pools there. The comment was that this is not good for the local comp not that there is a bias towards the valley for selection to NRC. Of the U20 Barbarians that did make the cut only half of them play for Tuggeranong.

Connal McInerney - Tuggeranong
Harry Burrey - Royals
Harry Lloyd - Wests
Jordan Jackson-Hope - Tuggeranong
Keith Morgan - Queanbeyan
Tyrell Lomax - Tuggeranong

I am not anti Tuggeranong. and in this forum congratulated two of the above players for making the U20 world cup. I would just like to see an even local comp with the best players playing first grade and rep teams made up of the best players. Surely that is the way it should be.

Fair enough, although the main reason Tuggeranong attracts the best talent isn't to do with NRC tie, but rather the professional setup they have which is a massive advantage for player development..........

If the other clubs had the same resources then we'd certainly see a much better distribution of players.

If by resources you mean cheque book then you are probably correct. Come for the money - stay for the professional setup....

Tuggeranong set the standard and will use whatever they have to maintain that standard. No doubt some believe this is bad for the comp just as some believe it is good. If your'e looking for some type of "cap" then it could be attempted by using the ranking system that Shute Shield used/introduced into their Colts in 2014 to reign in the disparity between some of the clubs that seemed to be hijacking/capturing all the best young talent. You would probably have to contact Hugh Jarse to get the full depth/idea of how the system works. Yes I am fully aware that SS Colts is a far bigger comp than JID Colts , but, the system may be worth a look and may lead to an eventual spreading of the young talent & that may filter through to seniors after time.

Bumped into an old Tuggies mate today who told me the redmen have an exciting recruitment announcement about a former South African large forward? Can anyone confirm or deny??
