Only in Japanese Rugby does your player profile list your blood type...

Yeah good on him for putting "unidentified" too. Japanese society will consign you a station in life depending on your blood type. Idiotic sorcery bullshit.
"Ohhhhhh, so you're AB negative? I heard they're all psychos. You must be a fucken psycho mate. We're not hiring you"

It's funny because it's true.

Poor Japan's terrified relationship with nature reveals itself again, first clap of thunder and the Suntory Beaudens etc abandon the match to sprint back down the tunnel to the safety of the changing sheds, probably to don their typhoon helmets and assume the earthquake falling debris position.

FFS thunder is just a sound you drongos. Sounds can't hurt you. Now get back out there and entertain me. #lightweights

This would never have happened if Pfitzy was the ref. "Would you lightweight little f****** nancy boys get your soccer mummy arses BACK out there? Safety? Look at this bonce <points to own head>. This planetary-sized cranial asteroid acts as a natural lightning conductor, you will be perfectly safe out there. How else do you think I charge my tesla solar panels during the winter? DON'T look at me like that. Red card for the next person to look at me like that."

Fairy embarrassing for Matt Todd and Micheal Leitch to be associated with Clueless Toddy's pea-hearted Toshiba outfit. Currently down 0-31 after 31 mins to the Suntory Beaudens.

How dumbo Toddy gets these gigs is a mystery. Has he ever won at any level as a coach?

Guess like most jobs it's just turning up on time and looking the part.

Top of the table clash between Toyota Verblitz and Suntory Sungoliath this weekend. Hooper vs McMahon.

Most other teams who have come up against Suntory GorillaMonsters would take that. When your pro league regularly has one team putting 60+ on another, it ain't great.

Mcmahon has been quiet. Read and Hooper arent really on the pitch at the same time due to capped gaijin quota.

Suntory will probably put 75 on Toyota, just like they do every other bloody team. No one has any answer for Kerevi. At all. Faauli and Tamanivalu got strolled through the other week.

Kerevi would easily be my league MVP so far.

I haven't been watching much, how's McMahon going? Read is meant to be with Hooper too no? And Kerevi is benched lol.

Kerevi got benched so they can start McMahon to combat Hooper.

Not sure if Read is being rested or has an injury.

They are only allowed 2 or 3 foreign internationals on the field at any one time I believe. If you are uncapped (and could potentially qualify for Japan in the future I don't think it counts).

It's like taking more money to play with kids and retirees. No-brainer.

So does that limit the player drain a bit?

Not really. There are a heap of teams now with money to recruit current or former test players.

The Top League is 16 teams divided into two pools of 8.

There's then the Top Challenge League that is 8 teams. The top 4 teams for this get included in the Top League playoffs (which is a knockout over 5 rounds).

Will Genia, Quade Cooper, Ned Hanigan and other current and former test players are playing in the Top Challenge League so there's substantial money on offer even outside of the top teams.

A lot will depend on the budgets for the teams in the new structure. Early on there were suggestion they'd be well and truly enough to compete with France as the big money league. At least in the 1st Div. But there's been little in the way of information about exactly how large the playing budgets will be.

Anyway, onto the games themselves. Currently watch Ricoh vs Canon. Fun game to watch. Fast and flowing. Have to agree with the commentators. Much of the refereeing in the league is really rather good. With an emphasis on keeping the game flowing.

The Toyota/Suntory game was another ripper. Unfortunately Hooper's Toyota came off 2nd best with a penalty taken after the bell giving Suntory a 29-36 victory.

39-36. Beauden kicks it in off the post in the 80th min to win the match.

Of course he bloody does.

Tevita Li absolutely pinballing people. Just like when he was an Auckland schools superstar. He's found his dream level in Japan. On the best team, gets the ball in a bit of space. No wonder he wants to become a naturalised Japanese citizen.

Several Australian based player agents are now fully focussed on finding fringe Super level players and shipping them off to Japan, as uncapped internationals they can play without restrictions. I saw last week another Brisbane based company just announced a Japanese base of operations.

It’ll get worse before it gets better.
