There are no sound arguments that Izzys views are homophobic (derogatory, inciting violence etc) - nor contradicting any position within the RA Code Of Conduct or inclusive policy (to the exclusion of people playing rugby)

Just because Izzy doesnt support the gay community doesnt equate to a hatred of the community - and as said earlier if sponsors or supporters leave, its not because of these comments.

imo it was ill advised to state his belief on social media in this day and age, however, he is entitled to have a belief.

But people have pointed out that RA have a policy of inclusion, which clearly outlines Rugby Australia's policy for building an inclusive culture.




As for the contract which bind employees to this, well the Inclusion policy as above applies to both employees and players, but its also covered off in the ARU Code of Conduct, I'm sure there is a contractual obligation to either of those policies.

As far as I can see, his comment breaches none of those sections whatsoever. Next.

Particularly when most of the available evidence supports the view that sports stars and celebrities are generally less worthy of respect than ordinary working people, and have in the main existed in a bubble of sporting jocks and would be celebrities since their teenage years. Hardly the formal education or life experience to be lecturing others on anything.

It is stupid. I hate the idea that people get 'offended' and we are somehow supposed to adjust our behaviour because of it. It's bullshit.
