Read that Kinross 1st XV hosted Waverley, Cranbrook & Marist (CBR) up at Orange the past few days, only results reported in the newspaper were:
Kinross 14 - Waverley 19
Kinross 7 - Cranbrook 5
Yeah that's a great result from Kinross. Early days yet but you take the wins where you can get them. Week 1 results will be the test to see if this was a flash in the pan or the start of a resurgence.

Good luck to them!

Well done Kinross. Not talking down the effort but is Waverley on a down year? Shore beat them 19/0 at Queens park a week ago or so. They do seem to roll through the season and get stronger.

Growing regions though which will help Kinross talent wise. Good to see and it makes sure these games happen more.

Yes for all the talk of closed shop school associations, I bet both Waverley and Cranbrook enjoyed their trip out there and had a great experience.

Great experience for the Auggies lads, KWS are heading to Japan in the July school holidays, with a 45 person squad from both the boys & girls rugby programs.
Kinross have a very good girls Rugby program and now they get to experience a Rugby tour. They won the Girls Country 7s tournament last year. They also tried to get ISA to start a Girls Winter Rugby comp. ISA rejected the proposal. These chances to grow Girls Rugby will not come around again.

Kinross girls are playing the Chloe Dalton Cup 7s in Term 3 against Pymble, Loreto Normanhurst, Monte, Ravenswood, Brigidine and Frensham. A really great standard of competition and one I'm sure they're going to do well in.

Oakhill 1st XV 21 - 12 Riverview 1st XV

In a highly anticipated return to the field after a two-week hiatus for both teams, Oakhill showed that falling behind 7-0 within the first 2 minutes as View capitalised on a catch from their own kickoff, resulting in a close-range try, setting the tone for an intense matchup.

The game took a turn when View secured their second try 20 minutes in, extending their lead to 12-0 with a well-executed chip over the top followed by a swift chase from their outside centre. This seemed to ignite the Oakhill team, prompting a surge in their efforts as they relentlessly pressed into View's territory.

The game's dynamics shifted dramatically when Oakhill intercepted a pass from View's scrum-half, with Sam Polley's decisive play resulting in Oakhill's first points, ending the half at 12-7.

The second half witnessed an intense battle early, with both teams showing their determination. However, Oakhill's forwards were the ones to lift, earning multiple penalties and shifting the game's momentum in their favour. Despite initial line-out struggles, Oakhill's scrums proved effective, allowing Sam Polley’s 8 pick to lead a charge close to the try line. A sequence of swift passes and strong forward play culminated in Jack Taylor Hannify crossing over for Oakhill's second try.

The relentless pressure continued as Oakhill dominated in View's half, ultimately securing their third try through cohesive forward play. It was a commendable performance from both sides, with Oakhill emerging victorious against strong opponents, marking a 2 from 2 record in the season.

Some Oakhill standouts:
- Tom Alloggia (Second Row)
- Ryan Scott (Flanker)
- Sam Polley (Number 8)
- Luke Alderson (Flyhalf)
- Jack Taylor Hannify (Winger) - hasn’t missed a conversion through 2 games

Is Hasani Bloomfield injured and what position does he play

Why did they drop the Oakhill 9 to seconds ?
He played very well in both seconds and first on the weekend.
Two very very good players. Both with different play styles, each with their own strengths. At the end of the day it depends on what the coaches want from their 9.

I’m sure both will be given ample opportunity during the trials, but as of now the First XV scrum half has certainly earnt his starting spot with his strong defence, while his connection with the 10 has looked fluent through the first two games. Interesting to see how the coaches manage this moving further into the season.

Auggies first few games have been quite impressive in the Sanix tournament. With their last pool game starting today this will decide whether they move on or not. In addition to this Auggies will host Riverview and Barker at Rat park this Saturday. Hopefully their are some impressive games, I will also post an update on their 3rd game in Japan today which starts at 11am and can be live streamed on youtube for anyone who may be interested.

Will this include the firsts as well or just every other grade?
