@Hankspank
hey spanky, can see your on the oakhill bandwagon. thoughts on how they will go this year and can you give me some players to watch out for especially in the forwards
Forwards are a very solid unit mate with good combinations who work for each other and provide a good platform for the backs. Backs this year are exceptionally good and have hurt teams in a very short timeframe. Against both Kinross & Auggies the games were fairly even (scorewise) until 3-4 tries in quick succession blew the game open Oaks way. Injuries have been common throughout the season but fortunately the holiday break will allow some boys who were injured earlier in the season to make their returns and cover some of the injuries that happened just before the break. Are most of the Gregs boys finished their League commitments and back to playing the 15 man game now?

Yeah sorry Hank, enough of this OHC feet washing they have no shot against Pats, Pius or Stannies. Well drilled sides from Strathfield, Bathurst and Chatswood will show too much for Castle Hill.
Ha ha. Righto mate. Should be able to scratch one of those off your list about 5pm Saturday.

From watching Oakhill a few times this year, I think their forward pack has been matched especially against Auggies and Kinross. As you said before though, the Oakhill backs this year are amazing especially the 10 and 15, which I think is why they've put big numbers on Augs + Kinross. Oakhill vs Pius this weekend, we could be in for a cricket score.

St Pats played Barker earlier in the week, from what I heard Barker played both their 2nd XV and 1st XV against St Pats' 1st XV in a half for half type matchup. Barker's firsts got the job done comfortably while the seconds had a rough time against them. No ending result was accounted for as it was just a mid-season friendly.
Thanks for that JackJill - Good to see both schools being proactive about their programs outside of their association games.

I suspect that for all the talk of all three associations being conservative, there are some outside-the-box thinkers running each schools program.

How was the game? A mud bath?
It was mate. Both teams still tried to play a bit too much dry weather football so plenty of dropped ball. After looking at some of the other associations was glad to see Oakhill played every game from 13F’s up to first 15. Yep the grounds got a bit chopped up but it’s a winter sport. Been a wet winter but each boy deserves to play so long as the grounds are safe

So good to see that at least one school didn't cancel games. Unfortunately I don't know that much about ISA but I do know that Oakhill vs Auggies 14A's will be the game of the season for that age group. Oakhill have been incredible since last year but so have auggies beating some GPS schools and playing good footy. Who are the favourite for the First XV comp? Stannies didn't look to bad against Scots a while back so I'd assume they'd be going alright.

Game has been done and dusted Props as they played in Rd 2. Unfortunately I don’t know the score but 16A’s was a great game with Auggies winning that and Oakhill winning 1sts. Plenty of the games that day were 10-7 type results
Oakhill v Stannies is last round so could very easily be the decider

Just heard that Auggies cleanly swept Kinross at Orange on the weekend through all age groups. Both schools were getting keenly involved in the 1st 15 matchup as I hear it was an intense and gritty match. How are Pius looking this year? Any standouts?

Just had a look Props. Oakhill beat Auggies 26-0 in the 14a's when they played.

Believe it was 34 - 22, will confirm as couldn't get to the game, several yellows & a red on show.
Informed Kinross still have their 1st XV captain / captain of rugby out injured.
32-21, very tough game, red cards to both teams N.O 8's. In regards to KWS captain of rugby being out, his replacement filled the spot very well with the team playing one of their better games of the year.

Fairly expected, IMO they are in the top 3 best Gps, ISA or CAS teams in the U14 age group. The other two best are Scots and Joeys. The only reason I didn't say top 3 in NSW is because i've heard that some of the sports schools (Westfields ect) are extremely talented sides. I'd put Oakhill in the same category as some of the best teams In Australia for 14s, along with scots and joeys. Talen Risati and Cyrus Bloomfield (of Oakhill) will be huge names to look for in the future.
