Joubert seems to improving. Walsh sometimes gets this right. Barnes should get the final.
do they have citing for 'simulation'. am thinking it is time we did

Why the hell not?
What ever happend to good long phase Rugby.
I wouldn't care if there where 100 rucks in a row so long as our men guard their ball.
Fanatic, I think you may have misunderstood there meaning, saying you can't have players lying on ground is not vthe same as saying it has to be a freeflowing game with the ball thrown around backline etc, I can't remember IRB diecting refs to change the game that way, though I am happy to be proved wrong. It stated being discussed about a month before this world cup started.
If you dig about you will find some articles about it.
The IRB wants fast games that are held up for nothing.
Also why injuried players are lying about the pitch bleeding while the game goes on.
I'm sorry, in what way are slow rucks interspersed with small gains and loses around the fringes "good long phase rugby"? It's shit rugby, I have no problem with the ball going no more than one pass wide of the ruck if it's happening at pace, but slow rugby achieves nothing except for setting up drop goals and clearance kicks, which is very situational and is not "our men guarding their ball".
I'm not advocating basketball here, just saying that good forward play is quick forward play and, for the third time, IS good to watch. The ball is not a Faberge Egg, players should use it.
I disagree, I personally think it's worst WC for commentators moaning about refs, where some of our so called fans of games get their info from. I haven't had the benefit of seeing coverage etc from other places , but the performance of the likes of Marto and Kearnsie have been nothing short of pathetic, not in their commentating, but their ridiculous statements after games. I heard Marto on Back Page tyelling everyone that ne refs have played in front row, so none are capable or reffing it, unfortunately some idiots believe this. Kearnsie's tirade after Irish beat Wallabies was rubbish, especially as I pointed out Ben Alexander said he knew what evry penalty was for. I not in anyway saying they only ones or trying to downgrade their skills, but as I said half the people that watch the games on TV actually believe commentators if it fits in with why their team was beaten.I think its the worst WC for referee performance.
that will need QC (Quade Cooper) to stand up and distribute flat. anything less and australia will never reach gain line.
And for that the forwards need to, well, go forwards.

One interesting thing was watching all the old RWC games this week on replay on Fox. The refs made a LOT of errors.
I think the biggest change from 1987 to 2011 is the way that cheating is now coached as part of the skill set. The rise of the #7 as the most important player hasn't helped our game at all. They're putting an enormous amount of pressure on refs at the breakdown. Anything less than brutal authority by the ref is an invitation to chaos.
Does anybody think the closeness of the games has brought the officiating into the spotlight?
I think the biggest gripe about the refereeing is becaus there has been such a vast difference in interpretation in some of the laws by the referees. They should have had enough time to get a degree of consistency about what service they were going to offer.
So you are basically saying benny is a liar?? It was reported by Marto that Bryce apologised?? See my comments re the commentators.I agree that our commentators are a bit horrible. But what benny said was just to butter up bryce for the next game. I was reported that Bryce himself even apologised to the Australasian camp as on review it was found that something like 3 of the scrum penalties we conceded were the incorrect decision. The fact that this bloke was even at the world cup ahead of mark lawrence, is a joke and just exemplifies the incompetence of those who select and manage the referees.
There is no consistency in the refereeing, just look at the difference between Barnes and B. Lawrence.
