The WC 2018/2022 plan clearly had this bullshit idea of not upgrading suncorp and giving adelaide a sweet new stadium and perth a brand new 60000 seater that was round anyway...

Well I thought It is time to bring out this thread again, a bit later so I've got some more evidence this time around.
Ignoring the money issue, this is what I thought of.
Stadium Idea: Exhibition grounds: Brand new stadium, 65k - 70k - 75k capacity.
Stadium shape: Rectangular
Stadium Design: Make it as close to the Milenium Stadium in cardiff as possible, retractable roof as well
If a great design like the milenium could be achieved, It would have the premier viewing, atmosphere and weather condition solution.
Access: There is a train station literally right there.
Uses: Rugby Union, Rugby League, Soccer, The Ekka.
Now here's my reason:

Now I hear you all say, oh but that's because they are bigger! Right you are but the trend is simple, the other smaller grounds i.e. patersons stadium, Docklands, the Adelaide stadium have not sold out / sold out anywhere near as many times as suncorp.
With fourteen sellouts or close to In a single year, there Is a real case that some of those crowds would be filling that stadium:
i.e. where a ticket limit was reached:
State of origin 1 & 3
Reds V Crusaders
Reds V Crusaders final
Tri Nations Final
A League Final
Broncos V Manly
That's still 6 big game sell outs per year, that in this ideal stadium could attract 70000 spectators.
A central location in gregory terrace, train line literally right there, play most home games at suncorp stadium.
Oh and I don't mean right now, I mean say ten years down the track.

I don't really want to get political, but I will tell you why QLD's stadium will stay the same for at least another ten years.
QLD has a huge Infrastructure debt. Which will prevent any government; Labor or Liberal from building a new stadium or upgrading it.
Suncorp is literally impossible to upgrade to 70,000 without costing a huge amount of money.
Talk about it in 10 years time especially as Brisbane isn't hosting an NRL grand final which is what there was some talk about a few years back.

Fair enough, It was just thought anyway, I do understand the QLD government has lost It's AAA credit rating etc.

AAMI park is very good... however they cater to different audiences...
The Queensland Govt suffers due to the massively decentralised population spread across Queesland..
Victoria focusses wholly on Melbourne when it comes to infastructure, this allows them to construct boutique(exspensive) stadiums like AAMI Park. This is evident as to why the Vic Govt spent $270m on a stadium which holds 30'000 people, whereas the QLD Govt spent $160m on a stadium which holds 27'500 people.
