The Northern Busway is a 15 minute walk away from Ballymore, it really isn't too far.

Take two kids under 10. Or someone over 50. Or someone on crutches. A 15 minute walk is too far.

Or an old warrior with gammy knees and dicky feet - walking to the bus is NOT an option unless it is at the gate and this is where Ballymore collapses.
Busses will not go there, it's too far to walk to anything and driving there is a nightmare on big games.

They could look to relocate to the Ekka, it is in the railway line and has a station, put in a 15000 seat stadium there

The Ekka already has a DA proposal in place for redevelopment
They're looking to put in residential units and shops

they will still have an open showground,we could piggy back into it and redevelop the ground.

On the topic of transport, there is no problem with Ballymore provided someone can come from the most corners of Brisbane and be dropped off at the door by bus on game day.

Brisbane has a heap of shopping centres - e.g. Chermside, Carindale, Indooroopilly etc that act as hubs. Express shuttle buses that say "Ballymore" on the front would work fine.

Brisbane ain't Melbourne where major stadia can be got to easily. Gabba is hard to get to from large swathes of Brisbane as is Suncorp. All is forgiven with the shuttle buses. Or at least tell people: "get yourself into the CBD, we'll take you the rest of the way for free".

when they were talking super stadiums before the decision was made to redo Suncorp (Terry Mackenroth decision. Big Bronco fan), I thought the best option was the ekka. Great drainage. Event capable public transport. Think it would be an excellent option for a smaller size stadium. Hell build into it another concert venue Boondall type thing as well.

Yeah isn't there some big billion dollar plan to expand both Ascot racecourse and Doomben racecourse. And have some housing precinct there. Out of the question, although a decent idea.

As far as I know the BTC haven't actually sold Doomben yet. I might be wrong, have been out of Brissie over a year now.

I know it's obviously horribly impractical, since the land would be worth hundreds of millions as residential land. Has reasonable public transport links, plenty of hotels/motels around, close to the airport etc. so would be a good spot for a little stadium.

Could also double as a new home for Brothers :thumb
